Rolando Negrin was Miami International Airport's guinea pig during an employee training session on full-body scanning equipment last year. The machines have the unintended side effect of giving a rough determination of the size of things underneath your clothes. Apparently, Negrin didn't measure up, and his co-workers teased him about his apparent shortcomings.
Negrin's rage brewed for about a year, and on Tuesday night, he snapped. He allegedly had a confrontation with a co-worker in an employee parking lot that night and proceeded to beat him with a baton. He told police "he could not take the jokes anymore and lost his mind."

Kelli Space is 23. She graduated from high school in 2005, and went to Northeastern University—"the first person in my family (including extended family!) to attend college," she says. Unfortunately, that may have deprived her of the opportunity to have someone tell her that the American college dream isn't all it's cracked up to be. Kelli emerged in May of 2009 with her diploma and this: $189,182.39 DEBT
Attached is my payment plan. I also mentioned I have a job - which is great! And I probably have my college education to thank for that! Except there is still no way to make these monthly payments, and live on my own as a contributing member of society. Neither of my parents, nor I, really knew how this would pan out — unfortunately — and now that I'm here, I see no real light at the end of the tunnel."

"The severity of my situation goes a bit deeper than "I owe this money, help me" - I am actually forced to live with my parents (forced = I am lucky! But...) as the monthly payments for just my private loans are currently $891 until Nov 2011 when they increase to $1600 per month for the following 20 years!

Ground Breaking Study Reveals What We Already Knew ... Obesity Lowers IQ (Aint Sayin' No Names CNu)
Not only is it bad for our appearance, social status and health but scientists say that putting on weight may interfere with our intelligence and lower it.The latest study that lasted for five years and included 2,200 adults finds a link between obesity and the decline in a person's cognitive functions. Participants belonged to an age group raging from 32 to 62. They needed to take four mental ability tests before the study started and then again five years later.
The tests revealed that people with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 20 or less could recall 56 % of words in a vocabulary test, while the obese with a BMI of 30 or higher, could remember only 44 %.
Those with higher MBI (people with more weight) had cognitive decline five years later when their recall had fallen to 37.5 % while the people with normal weights retained their recall timing.
Scientists explain this by saying that it could be hormones that are secreted from fats that could be damaging the cerebral cells and decreasing brain functions or that the brain arteries could be thickening and preventing blood from reaching the brain in time.
These results are serious as it shows that obesity negatively affects every single organ in the body and the fact that the obesity is spreading like a contagious disease is even more alarming.

Yes. That's it, in a nutshell. It really disappointed me to see
how we just don't learn. If all those Tea Party folks could come up
with was...vote for a bunch of Republicans this time, then their little
party is already over. It's also amazing to see how much the recent
election events were just a re-run of the last time around: fake
"liberal" Obama in the White House, fake "libertarian" Republicans in
the Congress. It's so-called "liberal" Bill Clinton mid-first term all
over again, with the so-called outsider Republicans/fake Libertarians
and their Contract with America. Remind me how that all turned out.
We're in for a repeat.
