Dude's organization sucks. How many young QBs would thrive in that situation?

Is Jamarcus Russell really that much worse than Alex Smith, or Joey Harrington? Those white boys got carried on the roster for four or five years while fans were cautioned to be "patient."

Sportcasters were ready to cut of Russell's nuts after his rookie season.

Homie needs to get in shape, study his playbook and come out and work. But, I can't ignore the double standard regarding black quarterbacks.

Also, why are they worried about his jewelry? I wouldn't buy it, but is it really worse than copping the latest high definition television or computer? Seems like those things lose value every year despite there excessive price tag, but white folks were lining up to get them an Ipad. At least Russell might get some money back if he has to hock his jewels. White folks overspend on all kinds of stuff (Ever watch Home and Garden Television) then turn right around and kill blacks for spending our money on what we like. .... For two grown men to sit and talk about how much bling other people are wearing is downright hilarious but it's also pitiful. Can't even hate 'em, I feel sorry for them.

These comments don't bother me at all.

If brah man has another season like he had last year, he'll be back in Mobile pawning that bling.

Dude reads defenses like he has dyslexia.

Out of 32 starting QBs in the NFL, Russell ranked 32nd, with a QB rating of 50.0; 3 TDs; 11 picks.

Chris Carter called his QB play nauseating.

Only the senile Al Davis would give him another chance.

But, as a long suffering Raider fan, I hope he gets it together.

Anybody that's been close to the business of sports knows that homeboy is another AA candidate as college and professional sports are the number one avenue in which to PROVE that blacks are superior to whites. Dude got in the league BECAUSE the league is desperate for black quarterbacks that can show their equal ability to the legions of superior white quarterbacks.

He's bust and he wears pearl necklaces... What isn't there to hate on??? He disrepects the game.

Thordaddy said...

Cats think this is about the bling and pearl necklaces... But it's about a buster WHO THINKS HE'S blingin'... It's about an AA quarterback who doesn't really want to play the game... I don't think anybody is going to say that about Harrington or Smith... And nobody sees these guys pretending to be blingin' either.

But, I can't ignore the double standard regarding black quarterbacks.—Big Man

Yo Big Man, there’s a double standard for everything black in America. I remember Eldridge Dickey, “Shack” Harris, “Jefferson Street” Joe Gilliam, Doug Williams being benched the year he won the Super Bowl, Randall Cunningham, and “Ludicrous” Limbaugh’s vitriolic attack of Donovan McNabb. I don’t place these loose comments by basketball commentators in the category of what happened to the aforementioned brothers.

Also, why are they worried about his jewelry—Big Man

They aren’t. They are television commentators. They get paid to talk. Controversy is good for media business. The critical point is the initial comment by Harlan: “If he spent as much time in the film room as he did in the jewelry store, he’d be a much better quarterback.” Of course that’s an extrapolation, but the point is they are questioning his values and his priorities.

Most definitely there are snide remarks. “What does that say? Chosen?” Somebody then laughs and says “with the number 2.” They’re comparing his numbers to his jewelry and essentially saying “what a joke.”

Maulana Karenga defines values as: “Categories of commitment and priorities which enhance or diminish human possibilities.” In 2007 Russell signed a six year $61 million contract with $32 million guaranteed. He says that he will not consider restructuring his contract to help his team.

His spending habits may be a statement about his values, but I know that his work ethic sucks. Dude reported to camp last year grossly out of shape (about 270 lbs). QB’s are regarded as leaders. Russell sent an immediate message to his teammates that he was not serious about winning.

Yeah the organization is the worst managed franchise in pro sports. I once thought that Al Davis was a football genius. Now he looks like a complete idiot, and it all started with his attempt to wreck the career of Marcus Allen.

But the sucking organization has nothing to do with the athlete’s work ethic; his inability to complete a 10-yard pass to an open receiver; his penchant for throwing into double-coverage, and consistently fumbling the football.

I’ve been a Russell fan from his days at LSU and I defended him for most of the 09 season. One of my daughter’s best friends went to high school with Russell. His “Ph.d” uncle taught my daughter chemistry at Tuskegee. I like the young man.

The fact is after a wasted 07 season, and a hopeful 08 campaign, Russell’s 09 season was one of the worst retrogression’s on pro football history. Yes he was under a lot of duress (43 sacks), but so was Aaron Rogers (50 sacks).

After his 08 season Vince Young was being trashed in many ways worse than Russell was trashed in 09. The best way to shut up your critics is to perform on the field. Young’s critics in Nashville are now about as quiet as a rat pissing on cotton. I hope JaMarcus can do the same thing in 2010.

"...Larry Holmes, Gerry Conney is the perfect example of life. Larry Holmes beats the shyt out of this guy for 11 rounds. He knocks him out in the 11th round, they had to stop the fight, he's bloody, he's been beaten the whole fight. They go to the judge's score cards, Larry Holmes is loosing the fight. If he didn't knock him out, he would have lost the title...and that is essentially the black experience.

Just because you let Jackie Robinson in baseball doesn't mean it's equal. Baseball statistically wasn't equal until the 70's. Why do I say the 70's? Because that's when you started to see bad baseball players.

True equality is the equality to suck like the white man. That's really Martin Luther King's dream coming true is guys sucking. I watch the Oscars and these are the people that made the good movies. What about the people that made the bad movies? That's most of the industry. I want to be like that. Not that I want to be bad but I want the license to be bad and come back, and learn."

Sport is the most fair of all jobs.
Tiger, Venus, Serena, James Stewart, Cullen Jones, Peter Westbrook and Shani Davis all dominate because they are/were good - not because someone likes them (or not).

But this is because these sports are not judged.
Surya Bonaly was so bad that the governing body made her signature move illegal in competition because no one else could do it.

THAT'S the 'perfect example of life'.

"...professional sports are the number one avenue in which to PROVE that blacks are superior to whites"

Tho'daddy you suppose to conserve digital space and "Go Green" not "gringo."

Anyway, of crime statistics used as a driving force for harsher punishments, low tolerance for the poor, sports also carry statistics as a proof. Rap music carries statistics. Number of albums sold.

So if you say Lil Wayne sucks, Lil Wayne retorts with the number of albums sold. You tell Muhammad Ali that he is Cassius Clay and you hate niggers, he retorts with the rise of ticket sales at boxing matches same goes for Floyd Mayweather.

So it's easy to scramble history and call the Black Panther Party reverse Klansmen or Rev. Wright unpatriotic or commodify MLK Day to the point you don't know if it's about the "I Have A Dream" speech that he matured from or a 'Got Milk' ad, but white supremacy can't eff with statistics. Before blacks just weren't good enough to compete with whites, but after those statistics hit'em, the immediate explanation was that blacks were simply closer to the animal kingdom. This sedated any rise in doubts about blacks being inferior on all fronts.

"But it is also a limited kind of success. For blacks their place in the circus, as gladiators."

Less than the number of brothers who could have their nutritional needs met if this country stopped giving Israel $4 Billion off the top each year to fund Israeli wars and aggression in the middle east ... that leads to the spending of $Trillions by this nation to wage war on Israel's enemies.

I hate Haters who vent their frustration with waste and graft at 25 year old black football players but too punk ass to say anything about the Orange Gorilla in the room whose waste and graft make Jamarcus Russell look like Warren Buffet.

And, if you want somebody to give back, tell the freaking state and federal governments to stop squandering your tax dollars on aid for rich foreign countries and corporations. If he was the best QB in the history of the sport, then he would be licensed to wear that jewelry? Is this your argument?

If dude wants to pretend he's rocking the crown jewels, then blame all them diamond heist movies WHITE Hollywood glorify. His values are the values white folks excuse each other for. If only white folks would just be so kind as to create a manual that informs black folks what we aren't allowed to adopt from this culture. Title it, "Do As I Say, Not As I Do."

Michael Vic? What? Try (like the previous posts) open season on Palestinian people.

Just for the sake of arguing "animal rights", try the whole hunting trophy culture. You got magazines dedicated to that shyt.
Clothing lines, special ammo, don't even start talking about what guns and accessories cost. It's all legit. Where all those white animal activists? Cricket sounds.

Fear Factor, eat some pig nuts, eat a hissing roach. Dehumanize people and it's legit, yet white media is so concerned about how women on rap videos are portrayed. Only reason why black women are on the radar is because when a black or latino woman puts on a swimsuit, their butt actually busts out unlike women in those "legit" Budweiser commercials, or those "legit" Camay bath commercials.

A big booty black woman would traumatize your children and send Ward Cleaver straight to the hood beat'n on Max Julien's door.

Ward: "I demand you open this door or so help me..."

King magazine, Source swimsuit changed the game with Sports Illustrated swimsuit (SIS). They use to make SIS some annual event like girl scout cookies or some shyt. Now you got big butts weighing down the magazine racks every other week and "women are demoralized." Before they were free. I'm not saying there isn't an argument, but the argument wasn't there until Negroes start doing it.

Big Man said...

Thor, I actually agree with you.

But, why hate they mad at his money?

What he eat don't make them fat...

They don't own the team. It ain't their money. So why they mad that Jamarcus Russell got it? They are invested in the success or failure of a corporation that provides them with no money.

Seems like misplaced anger to me.

Jamarcus Russell got paid because professional sports leagues are in the speculating business. It's like the freaking stock market. Getting pissed at Jamarcus Russell is like getting pissed at homeowners who defaulted on their interest-only loans. You mad at the wrong folks. Get mad at the people handing out the loans and costing you money in the long run through bailouts. Don't get mad at human beings who fell victim to the same failings we all have? That's one human being, their failures don't even compare to the larger failures of the corporation.

Jamarcus Russell did exactly what he was taught to do in America. Get paid as much as possible, as quickly as possible for as little work as possible.

Once again, white folks mad cause black folks learned their lesson.

For 'The Plantation Media' to focus the camera's eye on the necklace of a football player and to cast stones because of his relative lack of achievement ... on the football field ... while all but ignoring the fact that this nation has squandered TRILLIONS of dollars and bankrupt the American people into what will soon prove to be 3rd World levels of poverty - borders on Luciferianism.

JaMarcus Russell is a far better football player than Turner is a TV Network.

You're making up arguments for other folks.

Who suggested Russell get a pass because he's black?

I said he should get the same pass Joey Harrington, Matt Leinart and Alex Smith enjoyed. Or even a Jay Cutler pass.

The pass that says if you're a high draft pick and white, we are going to give you more time to "develop." You want me to bring Ryan Leaf into the discussion as well. That's the pass I said Russell should get, the White Boy Pass.

Eff special treatment for black people, I want that man to be treated just like a white boy. I want his mistakes to be written off as growing pains. I want his excesses to be explained away as the folly of youth.

I'm not saying that I would raise my son to take folks money and run without putting in his work. That ain't how I was raised.

What I'm saying is it's mighty freaking hypocritical for anybody in America to pretend that the mantra being blasted across our airwaves is not "Get what you can get, however you can get it, and get as much as you can."

White folks talking out both sides 'dey mouth. Y'all praising white boys who are on some cutthroat, raping folks game, then getting mad because one fat black dude did the same thing for pennies.

$36 million is a third of what AIG handed out in bonuses. After they got billion in bailout dollars. You hear Kevin Harlan talking about that at the game? Why not? If we're complaining about bad decisions that's much higher on my list.

But you'll never hear that because it doesn't push the right meme.

"We should have never gave these niggers money..."

That's the meme. Like they GAVE that man anything. Like he didn't earn his money the same way every other draft pick has ever earned his money, by killing in college at the right time.

But, that won't stop folks from suspending their critical thinking and resorting to outright hating.

"This nigga got on pearls, and platinum! Oh no, that just won't do. He should be punished, he should give all that money to the poor."

Y'all are some funny folks. Sports got y'all fooled.
