The Plantation Negros Are At It Again - Sharpton Says It's Same As Imus

Kelly Tilghman, the Golf Channel anchor who during Friday's broadcast from the Mercedes-Benz Championship said while discussing Tiger Woods' dominance that young players on the PGA Tour should "lynch him in a back alley," was suspended two weeks Wednesday for the remark.

The move came after a wave of outrage that included a call for her to be fired by civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton and despite a statement from the Woods camp saying, "It is a complete non-issue."

Sharpton said the fact Woods did not call for punishment of Tilghman does not mean the comment was not offensive to African-Americans.

The comment wasnt offensive to me. I understood what she meant by the statement. It actually was a compliment to Tiger on his athleticism. Much different than Imus' nappy headed ho remark which was undoubtedly intended to be insulting.

Intellectual Insurgent said...

No one has any basis to be offended by her statement other than Tiger Woods.

Group think gone wild.

In response to co-anchor Nick Faldo's joke that younger players should "gang up" on Woods

Tilghman replied "Lynch him in a back alley".

The real question is would either or have either ever remarked in a similar manner about any other golfer while on air? Imus had a multi year track record of crude remarks before his nappy headed ho incident. I suspect at minimum there is some element of hatorade in her statement masked as joke. Her subconscious slipped so fuck her and her job. Golfers don't need haters on the air anyway! and let our pitbull Rev. Al do what he do!... We need one of him like the JAL did there thing or Mel Gibson.

"question. compliment or not, what part of a lynching and its history is humorous?"

KP,

I'll try to answer that. But first, help me better understand the context of this situation.

Help me out.

1) Where is this list of "Acceptable" words and "Unacceptable" words?

2) Who puts this list together?

3) Can a black person use the word "lynch"?

4) Is the concept of "lynching" exclusive to black people?

5) Had Kelly Tilghman said "mug" him a back alley ... or if she had said "work him over" in a back alley ... or if she had said "jack him up" in a back alley ... or if she had said "beat him with a ball-peen hammer" in a back alley - would she be any less foolish and deserving to keep her job?

6) Is it to be understood that the government can't punish people for speech, but is it OK for corporations to routinely punish people for speech violations, by taking away their livelihood?

7) Is creating an atmosphere where black people and white people are afraid to even speak to each other out of fear of violating some secret set of "off-limit" race words - in our interests?

8) Has it occurred to you that the Sharpton response is choreographed by his handlers to maintain racial tension?

DV what group of people don't have the hustle.. Palestinians have the hustle. Iranians have the hustle.. Jews for sure have the hustle.. Shit you have the hustle at your shool about what type of songs played during the holidays you think non-christians should want to play. I could call you super-sensitive & fragile over some songs. But I won't.

Secondly, the white woman to KP's point is a hater. And as such should be removed and replaced by someone who can praise the greatest golfer of all-time. She aint nothing but Howard Cosell to Ali. Hating Pscyhobabble is a lame hustle!

This is not about anybody being offended. Not Tiger, not Al, not you or me. This is about America's WS continuing influence that every so often bubbles to the surface no matter how much you want to pretend that race is a non-issue. She could just have easily said mugged, and within the context of the conversation she would have gotten away scott free. Hell, I have said myself that the only way those white boys ever gonna win another tournament is to pull a Nancy Kerigan. Got to get that ball ping hammer directly on those kneecaps, and poof, no more Tiger problems.

But that's not what she said, and believe it or not, the words that come out of people's mouths express a hell of a lot about their thought processes. I'm no proponent of Freud, but he hit the nail on the head with that Freudian slip business. So that seemingly unconscious choice of words gives us a glimpse into the mad mind of a white person who is a tacit supporter of the WS system. And it's important to understand that even the ones that smile in your face still persist in attitudes and thought processes that are inimical to our interests.

DV wants to make it just about the words. That's like pretending to honestly believe that it means exactly the same thing when I greet one of my home boys saying "What's up my nigga" as when your neighborhood skinhead rolls up on DV with the exact same line, but of course, an entirely different motivation. The Blackest man in America better be ready to put his pimp hand down on that nazi or forfeit the crown forever.

It's disingenuous to pretend that it's about a list of so-called prohibited words or super sensitive fragile egos. What it is about is patterns of thought and behavior that are the direct result of centuries of WS conditioning. These thought patterns have largely been moved from the forefront of this society to the backrooms and subconscious where they are that much more difficult to identify and react to. Especially when confused Negroes persist in trying to convince us that these things no longer exist or don't matter even if the so still exist.

And stop with the hating on Al already. To insinuate that Al Sharpton or any Black man is somehow responsible for racial tension and animosity is the most craven statement I have ever heard. Are you a coward who would rape a woman and then claim she had it coming because she had on a short skirt? That bullshit blame the one who is being attacked for causing the attack is just weak. I won't disparge Telemaque for thinking you are brilliant, but I wonder if she is equally turned on by that coward stance you just endoresed. Al Sharpton has established a zero tolerance policy towards all expressions of racially biased behavior against his people. In other words, you want Al on that wall; you need Al on that wall. If Al makes you uncomfortable, it's more likely because you aint got the stones to step to anyone anywhere and dare them to say that type of bullshit to your face.

I'm a boy, Exodus. I'm a boy. A black one, too. The second blackest one on Earth.

Do I have to be a girl just because I think DV is brilliant and sexy?

Now as to your haranguing DV, clearly that woman did not mean what you said because she would have to have been talking about a black person. In fact, in Tiger Woods case she can't possibly be talking about black people because Tiger Woods is NOT BLACK. He is Calabinasian.

Hey, Telemaque, it was an honest mistake. Don't often see that level of man love and it threw me off.

Regarding Tiger's self proclaimed "cablinasian" classification, you may or may not be aware that this is a central node to the entire issue of GSWS that we have been pontificating about. Tiger can feel free to classify himself any way he chooses, and it's funny how accepting Black folks are about that. I assure you that we are the only ones so accepting. I further assure you that people who classify themselves as white and others as non-white could give a rat's ass about whatever new name Tiger chooses to label himself.

Go to my blog and read the most recent post "Required Reading" then come back and tell me that Tiger isn't Black.

1) Where is this list of "Acceptable" words and "Unacceptable" words?
Some things are common sense. When you represent a network and fail to exhibit it on the air you get educated one way or the other and suspended by employers.

2) Who puts this list together?
Not who. what. Answer: Experience

3) Can a black person use the word "lynch"?
anyone can. place, time and context are the issue.

4) Is the concept of "lynching" exclusive to black people?
to her, absolutely.

IMO, yeah she'd be less foolish if she said "beat up" and most ppl would find humor in it.

6) Is it to be understood that the government can't punish people for speech, but is it OK for corporations to routinely punish people for speech violations, by taking away their livelihood?
In a world of many accepted yet awkward and unjust, norms, rules, guidelines and laws, Yes.

7) Is creating an atmosphere where black people and white people are afraid to even speak to each other out of fear of violating some secret set of "off-limit" race words - in our interests?
Is creating an atmosphere where black people are discouraged from calling white people on their BS in our best interests? So all out slave revolt is cool but combating mental slavery of WS with "easy on the lynch comments" is psychobabble?

You just don't like Al.

8) Has it occurred to you that the Sharpton response is choreographed by his handlers to maintain racial tension?
Never. I don't believe thats the case.

Denmark Vesey (originally Telemaque,1767 – July 2, 1822) was a West Indian slave, and later a freedman, who planned what would have been one of the largest slave rebellions in the United States had word of the plans not been leaked.

DV is right. If this type of thing gets over blown each and every time then no progress will be made. If AA's are offended every time someone says "lynch" or "nappie headed ho" not to mention the Big N, then the AA's will keep there plantation chains on and feel comforted by them. Al is the voice that whispers to keep the chains on, keep playing the victim, keep the submissive mode on.

There is the way it's always been and then there is progress. If your scared of changing your world perceptive then continue to take comfort in the self imposed chains. If considering a new way of thinking, you might realize the chains, there weight and most importantly the key in your hand to open the chains.

The choice is yours. Tiger gets it. Big J gets it DV gets it and so does the Turk!!

Get 'em Maque,

You got more heart than 6 GSWS haters in a Range Rover.

You understand that we become that upon which we focus.

Freedom is the ability to choose on what we focus. Courage is the willingness to focus on things that strengthen us. Understanding this process is wisdom. Doing it, makes us men.

We can focus on our light and that which empowers us. Or we can chant to the God of "White Supremacy" by focusing on the dark message of victimization and pathetic entitlement that only weakens us.

With all of the beautiful powerful things black people are doing around the world, the mental slaves want to focus our collective attention on a stray word from a miscellaneous white woman on the Golf Channel.

P.L.A.N.T.A.T.I.O.N. N.E.G.R.O.S.

Young Exodus,

Listen carefully: The necessary corollary of “White Supremacy” is “Black Subservience”.

There really aint much to talk about after that.

Anonymous said...

No you chucklehead. I understand that everyone has a limit on what he or she knows, but there is no limit to what you can learn. Except the limit you place on yourself by your unwillingness to concede that there may bbe somethings worth knowing outside of your sphere of knowledge.

So try this completely new logic on for size. When I speak of WS I am speaking of a a pattern of thoughts and behaviors practiced at all levels of human interaction, to ensure white genetic survival and the ultimate goal being white supremacy. Am I going to fast for you?

Now, accepting that the GSWS that I just described, not the one you seem intent of imagining, does exist, it has not achieved 100% of it's goal. If it had you and i would not be on this public forum having this debate. So their goal may be black subservience, but the opposing system is Black STRUGGLE. Not accepting the subservient position that the currently more prominent system would have us in, is the whole point of understanding what it is they are trying to do and how they are doing it.

Your "necessary corollary" exists only in DV's mind.

You and I are involved in the same struggle, just your methodology doesn't deal with the reality of the situation and thus is more prone to spinning is wheels. You must admit you have a certain talent for spinning your wheels.

Wait.. Wait... Wait Denmark / Telemaque wasn't it you 6 weeks ago all up in arms over the musical selection in your kids school. Now if you were playing the role of Tiger you would have let it go. Not been so sensitive. But you made a huge deal about proportional to Al's attempt to bring a position of equality to a situation. So maybe some of non-Christian kid's parents are somewhere suggesting that you were over reacting to a innocent effort to balance religion and holidays among young humans. Either way you reacted to your belief system. Why can't Al Sharpton???

Contradiction should be your middle name. I only wonder what Curtis Jackson would have done or said if such the same white South Carolinian racist chick wished that white rappers lynch him in some dark alley. Would Malcolm have stood for such suggestions?? Hell no!. See when black folk become comfortable (Fresh Prince of Bel Air) they forget the struggle all together. Submariner said...

I generally avoid comment on the topic of race relations but I will make a mild splash. I'm reminded of a case a few years back when Donald Trump fired a white man on his show for calling himself "white trash." He made it clear that there is no place for such talk even in jest and directed at oneself. He set an appropriate standard for ethical behavior in a corporate setting. Executives at the Golf Channel should have done the same. So to answer DV's earlier question: No, blacks shouldn't be allowed to use such words either.

To pounce on Sharpton and others for calling attention to a misdeed is wrong. If black athletes and rappers must face jail time for societal infractions then I won't defend a white woman for falling into a similar trap of her own design. To call for the firing of this woman doesn't require a suspension of autonomy or submission to GSSW.

And Telemaque, when you liberally use words like 'Nigger' in a forum such as this you merely contribute CBA talent to an NBA game. It's quite gratuitous and unnecessary - and yes, I find it offensive. If you care to have your input seriously considered I suggest that you rein in such comments. Otherwise, you risk being the most marginal of benchwarmers.
