Interesting. 50 is definitely a smart man. But isn't he part of "the system?" I mean, he works for Iovine and Interscope. That's pretty "system-ish".

Man. I'm sorry. But that's just ... bullshit. Actually it's racist.

Curtis Jackson is a business man who, according to court records made $33M last year. Les than 25% of that came from the sale of records through Interscope.

The rest of his income came from his various business ventures.

His company currently has an agreement with Interscope to distribute records for his G Unit label.

When that expires he will go back on the marketplace and allow other distributors to bid for the right to distribute his music and the music of the artists who work for him.

Curtis Jackson may be one of the top 5 black businessmen in the country. He is breaking barriers in business, marketing and finance like Jackie Robinson broke barriers in baseball.

Yet you have a Pavlovian like need to reduce what he and others like him have accomplished to merely - working for Iovine or a corporation.

Why do you need to believe that?

It's almost like you don't want to believe these cats have escaped the plantation.

I'm sure it is safe to say a larger share of your income comes from the corporation you work for than does Fiddy's. How you going to accuse him of something that you may be more guilty?

Tell the truth - if he looked like Harold Ford Jr., wore a suit and had a degree from a white university you would be working on his campaign for President.

LOL!

I work for an LLC, not a corporation. (err, just playin').

You're right, he doesn't only work for Iovine, he has cross-marketed his Iovine-generated brute negro ethos and now he does commercials at the orchestra. (The implication of the commercial is that this nigger is big enough to hang with us rich whiteys).

Like I said, I give him credit. He's not dumb. He's talented. When he starts saying something more meaningful, I'll start listenin'. . .

Money ain't a thang. He's paid by Neocons just like Barack is.

all this says is that he knows better than to sell us out the way he does with his "Iovine-generated brute negro ethos". (thanks J)

DV and soteria, y'all can keep swinging. I'll pass.

Kalena,

Come on sista. You haven't addressed the operative point of the man's statement.

If you've made up your mind to hate, because you simply need somebody to blame - so be it. That's cool.

If not, of what is he guilty of, that thousands of other artists, film production companies, playwrights, TV directors are not guilty?

How can you hate Fiddy, and not hate HBO?

who said i don't hate HBO. you don't see me commenting on the finale of the Soprano's. i couldn't name one character beyond Tony. that's his name right? i can't even name another show that comes on HBO. i hate it all. all the sambo, coonism circulating on the airwaves. I'm hardcore! i don't even watch CNN LOL i hope you picked up on where i intentionally went over the edge.
