The intentional dismantling of the marriage apparatus has done more to cripple the social and economic development of Black people in America than the institutions of slavery, racism and The Feminist Movement combined.

Brother DV -
One day you are going to "feel me".
I appreciate and applaud your message "Get. A.Chick."
HOWEVER some people need a LONG FORM of your advice.
* Get A Chick * Marry A Chick * Produce Children Together..... is a sound strategy.
HOWEVER - in order to get through the lean years and both individuals need something to keep them focused upon a bigger picture beyond their (sometimes) selfish understanding - the connectedness to WHAT THEY ARE BUILDING in the big picture is necessary.
From Garvey to Elijah Mohammed - the notion of yielding one's self-interest so that the GROUP can prosper while living inside a hostile nation that seeks to chew them up if they GO FOR SELF - is a proven societal archetype. Today we are in a lull - seeking to use national POLITICS to do what needs to accomplished down at the community level.

I hear ya Brother Feedback.
But I disagree.
The "Group" approach is for Plantation Negros.
Groups never accomplish anything. "Da CoMoonity" rhetoric... generally turns out to be... nothing more than talk.
Whenever I hear cats start talking that "community" shit I know they are not serious. No one is accountable in conversations about "da community". That "we as a people"... Plantation Negro segmentation nonsense is Kool-Aid left over from the 70's.
It perpetuates the illusion that there is even such a thing as a "black community". There aint no "community" and hasn't been in 40 years. Most Negros don't even know their neighbors.
The only effective group is FAMILY. Families are the cells of a society. Destruction of the cell is cancer. An effective institution, expectation and habit of marriage is the antidote.
A culture of marriage is to family what water is to fish. Build families and the community will take care of itself.
So ...
As I have been saying for years. Later for all the talk: Get. A. Chick.
I've got my sons searching now.

Thank you for this. I don't even know what to say. This is why i come to Denmark Vesey
Brother DV:
Let's flip this around.
What if you made the case:
BEFORE any "group of people's" grievances as to why they are NOT the 'Most Powerful People In The World" is ACCEPTED as credible.......ask them to look at the societal arrangements that they have adopted and enforced across their domain of control.
If they fall short of the prescription that you have articulated - SEND THEM AWAY, equipped with your sage instruction and suggest that they not return until they follow the time proven framework for power building.
How does this sound?
A bit more affirmative toward a goal?
Um.
Ok.
I don't know bruh...
Guess you could say it that way if you wanted.
Sounds a little convoluted to be honest.
Best advice I've ever heard on the subject was simple:
Get.A.Chick.
@Constructive Feedback, I see your point though and it's a good one.

Ya hurting me bad bro. (No Afro and I carry a computer bag instead of a hard shell brief case.)
Let me be clear -
I do not believe in the "We gotta drag everyone along lest we all fail because some have been left behind".
The problem with the management strategy today within the Black community is that all the while we are looking for a SOLUTION FOR ALL (fix public schools) they don't make note that all the while they are WAITING - new people are being injured as time ticks by.
Instead I am of the opinion that those who have the consciousness of mind need to develop a set of operating principles - implement them - tell others about where they are going, WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IF THEY ARE INTERESTED IN ROLLING - tell those who are not interested "Thank You Very Much".
Another problem is with the group of educated brothers - each with skills - where we get together to promise to do something big. After the beer is done and the basketball/football game is over - nothing ever happens.
The brownskinned people that I see increasingly as I go on various business consulting engagements are Indian/Pakistani. They are leveraging their skills and are gaining in strategic areas.
Things are changing before our eyes but some people are blind to what is going on. They don't have the individual skills to do anything about it and don't have the sound institutions to leverage for their own purposes.
The family is the basic building block of civilization. If we don't fix that, there is no "community".
That means, get a chick, get married, have a kid. In that order. Then the big one: STAY MARRIED.
Suck it up. Make it work.
We've got too many generations that have no idea what a two parent household looks like. they don't know how to make it work. And most importantly, they don't know what they are missing when you have a partner to raise your kids.
It's one thing to remove the stigma of being a single mom. It's another to act like it's just as good. It ain't.
"Why should I compromise?" For your kids, asshole.
