"The problem is, and dare I say this, it doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice. And then we hear that she's out eating ribs at 1,500 calories a serving with 141 grams of fat per serving... I'm trying to say that our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you."
Obesity costs America $270 billion dollars a year in lost productivity, increased medical costs, and it costs taxpayers around $50 billion a year. Yet high profile conservatives from Palin to the Micheles (Malkin and Bachmann respectively) spent last week attacking the other Michelle, the First Lady, over her efforts to get more mothers to breastfeed. Despite studies indicating that children breastfed longer have a lower tendency to be obese, and the fact that these ladies breastfed their own children, they pounced. Instead of seeing Obama's call to action for what it is -- a preventative measure that could save us all dough down the road -- they argued it was further proof of her efforts to advocate for the nanny state.

Michelle Obama could have said kiss your babies, go to church every Sunday, and love your family--somebody would have said something negative about it.
Limbaugh's commentary was almost as stupid as Palin's....since he isn't exactly the picture of health.
Reactionary nonsense...kind of like what you do whenever I so much as say "hello" on your blog. Glad you've noticed how silly it is.
Am I blind??? In what world does she look like she's not following her own advice? The woman is clearly in good shape.

Pinnnnnnk!
Where you been?
It was smelling like a boy's locker room 'round this camp without the sisters.
yeah.
Rush trippin'.
I'm proud of Michelle.
LOL sorry! I've been so busy. I had to take the PA bar and of course I remember nothing so I've been studying like crazy! What have I missed? Are you and DMG still in a bromance?
DMG:
After reading DV's "Get A Chick" meme - the previous President initiated a "Marriage Initiative".
Please recall that many of the very same people who are outrage over Mrs Obama's sage advice with regards to nutrition and breastfeeding were expessing outrage about the government trying to get people to marry.
Long story short - when these straightforward suggestions are allowed to be politicized - some people have no problem "standing against their own interests" by promoting politics.
Malcolm X Political Football 101 except that today the American Negro is proud to be on the starting team.
Pink,
Congratulations. Hope you did well! I didn't know you had studied law. Are you just coming back to it? No, you didn't miss anything. A couple of new (and short lived??) players surfaced.
Thanks DMG! I think I did well yesterday but today was the multiple choice and I feel wayyy less confident about it. I'm already admitted in MA but I'm living in PA now so I had to take it here. I plan on going solo in the summer.
Guess we have two lawyers running around these parts. What kind of law are you planning to practice this summer?
