Jazz and hip hop didnt come from the hood. It came from rich niggaz in the hood. Valuable talent and intellectuals who just happened to be reared in the hood.
The hood doesn't birth genius or even beauty. Good genes, however do. The only thing the hood is good for is motivating that ass to get out quick; find sunshine in rain while doing it and that alone is why it's so respected.
