Actually, the producers probably couldn't find enough affluent married women whose husbands would agree to turn their lives into a circus for reality television.

These women dont wanna be in a loving relationship (with maybe the exception of Kandi). They wanna look normal and have lots of luxuries sponsored by a man.
Isn't Kandi the one who was dating the guy with 6 baby mamas (the dude that got murdered)? Now she's dating Wilis Magahee - another man with multiple kids by multiple women. Kandi doesn't want a loving relationship. Kandi wants a father.
Even if Kandi wanted a "loving relationship," she still isn't a wife. I'm not even convinced she is on her way to being a wife. Didn't she call off the engagement to the dead ex before he died??

That's how it was reported. I found it alarming that Kandi considered marrying someone that her mother disapproved of so I cant fault her if she realized that was a mistake. Mothers know.
But yes, DV, back on track....
This is the only Housewives show in which most of the women are actually single. The Black Housewives are married-less.
I totally see the joke and the tragedy.
I find it sad that the so-called black feminists who railed against the images of black women in hip hop music videos have nothing to say about the explosion of loud ignorant black women on reality TV.
I'll take the image of Michelle Obama over both, but...if I had to choose between a beautiful girl with low self esteem or the vain, greedy, shallow, ignorant, obnoxious women in RHOA and other shows of that ilk, it's a no brainer.
The only "friends" these women have are flaming gay men. Their relationships with their husbands seem transactional and the men always look beat down.
Why is this acceptable? Because you love to laugh at their antics? What's the difference between them and Flavor Flav? Oh, that's right, Flavor actually did something meaningful once, unlike these harpies.
These broke down chicks don't make you feel insecure like that silly videhoe does when she steps out of the hot tub in her bikini, but that doesn't make it better.
