Yes. Most Black Youth Suffer From Dietary Insanity
According to the results of a report in the Journal of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, where researchers conducted a double-blind, controlled experiment in a jail for chronic offenders aged between 13 and 17.
Many of the boys there were deficient in certain nutrients. They consumed, on average, only 63% of the iron, 42% of the magnesium, 39% of the zinc, 39% of the vitamin B12 and 34% of the folate in the US government’s recommended daily allowance. The researchers treated half the inmates with capsules containing the missing nutrients, and half with placebos.
They also counselled all the prisoners in the trial about improving their diets. The number of violent incidents caused by inmates in the control group (those taking the placebos) fell by 56%, and in the experimental group by 80%. But among the inmates in the placebo group who refused to improve their diets, there was no reduction.
The researchers also wired their subjects up to an electroencephalogram (which records brainwave patterns), and found a major decrease in abnormalities after 13 weeks on supplements(4). A similar paper, published in 2002 in the British Journal of Psychiatry, found that among young adult prisoners given supplements of the vitamins, minerals and fatty acids in which they were deficient, disciplinary offences fell by 26% in the experimental group, and not at all in the control group(5).
Researchers in Finland found that all 68 of the violent offenders they tested during another study suffered from reactive hypoglycaemia: an abnormal tolerance of glucose caused by an excessive consumption of sugar, carbohydrates and stimulants such as caffeine(6).
In March this year the lead author of the 2002 report, Bernard Gesch, told the Ecologist magazine that “having a bad diet is now a better predictor of future violence than past violent behaviour. … Likewise, a diagnosis of psychopathy, generally perceived as being a better predictor than a criminal past, is still miles behind what you can predict just from looking at what a person eats.”(7)

Just wondering what triggers this dietary insanity. Two young ladies start fighting, allegedly over one of the suspects (and I assume because their dietary insanity suddenly kicked in), and one of the girls hits a dude during the fight. Dude says, he won’t hit a girl (I suppose his dietary insanity hadn’t kicked in at that point), but he will drill the next male he sees. Lil Bobby Tillman (5’ 6” 125 lbs.) is the next male he sees. Dude’s blow sends Lil Bobby reeling towards the ground (I assume dietary insanity suddenly kicked in). Then a group of four to eight males start stomping Lil Bobby, who dies when his heart is punctured by a broken rib.
No group of people was more vitamin and nutrient deficient than the Africans who survived the Middle Passage. Based on this theory they should have killed everything in sight. Why weren’t they more violent?
[Researchers were able to chart London’s murder rate all the way from the mid-13th century to today. What they found was a trend as clear as it is astonishing. Some 750 years ago, the city’s murder rate was roughly 20 per 100,000 people- about the level of a tough American inner city today- but it soon began to drop. By 1600, it was 10 per 100,000. By the mid-20th century, it was one per 100,000- or one-20th what it had been seven centuries before.
Similar work done in Belgium, Holland, Finland and elsewhere uncovered even more dramatic drops in violence. When Eisner drew all the research together, he found the western European murder rate had been at its highest in the 15th century- a frightening 41 murders per 100,000 people. By the 18th century, it had dropped to 3.2. In the 19th century, it was 2.6. By the 1950s, it was less than one.] -- NYT
Are we supposed to believe that the diet of western Europeans is the cause for this dramatic reduction in their murder rates?
Excuses, Excuses...
