“Forcible takeover of the government of a country by elements from within that country, generally carried out by violent or illegal means. It differs from a revolution in typically being carried out by a small group (for example, of army officers or opposition politicians) to install its leader as head of government, rather than being a mass uprising by the people.”
The government of the United States was not overthrown on November 22, 1963. After four days of mourning, the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the American government continued to function as they had before November 22. The United States constitution was neither suspended nor was it fundamentally altered. Business went on as usual.
There has been since the founding of the republic ideological conflicts over the direction of the country, (think Hamilton v Jefferson/Monroe, anarchists v McKinley, etc) which sometimes had violent manifestations. These conflicts are sometimes public, and sometimes subterranean, with devious plots (big business v FDR). During the presidency of John F. Kennedy, a subterranean conflict burst to the surface, planted a patsy, took the life the young president, and submerged as if it never existed. Did it change the direction of the country? That’s probable. Was it a coup d'état? No!
I hear you brah man. By no means am I suggesting that the assassination of John F. Kennedy was anything other than a “deep state” operation.
From the establishment of the patsy; to the planting of the “magic bullet;” to the disappearance of the president’s brain; to the murder of eyewitnesses who were on the grassy knoll, the assassination of President Kennedy has all of the trappings of a “deep state” operation.

"There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live—did live, from habit that became instinct—in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized."

The founders of the American state understood that the proper functioning of a democracy required an educated electorate. It is this understanding that justifies a system of public education and that led slaveholders to resist the spread of literacy among their chattels. But the meaning of "educated" has changed beyond recognition in two hundred years. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are no longer sufficient to decide on public policy. Now we need quantum mechanics and molecular biology. The knowledge required for political rationality, once available to the masses, is now in the possession of a specially educated elite, a situation that creates a series of tensions and contradictions in the operation of representative democracy.

Men can only be happy when they do not assume that the object of life is happiness... If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear... The great enemy of clear language is insincerity... The quickest way of ending a war is to lose it... To see what is in front of one's nose requires a constant struggle... For a creative writer possession of the truth is less important than emotional sincerity.

Well ... uhm.
Brother Mac.
I didn't think JFK was describing something that was going to happen.
He was describing something that took place long ago.
Long before his presidency.
Long before the establishment of this nation.
The Hi-Jacking wasn't political.
It was psychological. It was spiritual.

In fact several common threads run through each of the major assassinations of the 1960s, not the least of which is J. Edgar Hoover.
