My Definition Of A Sista

Ahhhhh shut up Jigaboo.

You don't need to clarify no definition. What's clearer than a picture?

That's what's the matter with you peasants. You seek to reduce the world to your petit bourgeois wanna be radical empiricism. Looking for reasons to dismiss something ... just because you don't get it.

You aint particularly smart dude. Yeah yeah. You a good student. Did your homework. Stayed out of trouble. Did what you were told. A little Affirmative Action. Yada Yada. A Plantation success story. Congratulations. Now you are rubbing stamping Plantation vaccines and GMO food.

But other than that all you've really done is regurgitate verbatim every Plantation meme from high school to NPR to Medical School to Match.Com. I know you think you are cute when you are insulting the ladies but even that shit is dry. Be honest. That's why you here nipping at my heels. Mad.

DMG,

I love the posts you've been making. You are so right on with the chronic lack of substance in most of DV's posts. A provoking sound bite (or 200) is not intellectualism. Go over to Keep It Trill's blog if you want substance.

And all the fuss and fury about Tiger "lightening the bloodline" and this royalty vs. peasant nonsense. Ancestors? Where your family 10 generations back lived? Who cares?

What matters is today. I have ZERO interest in what my greatgreatgreatgreat grandparent was or did or had. That has 1/500th bearing on what I am and do and have.

I think it is very weird that people bother with family trees and do things like boast about their family coming over on the Mayflower or similar. So what? What have YOU done lately that is interesting? If my cousin wins an Olympic medal that doesn't mean I can run or jump.

All this talk about bloodlines ... it's like I'm reading the blog of the American Kennel Club.

Same IP address as Mike Fisher?

Now that is odd, because I am not Mike Fisher.

So DV, either you are lying (which I doubt) or there is something wrong about the way you get your IP addresses.

I am a white woman who last posted on this blog about six months ago. I just couldn't resist this time.

It figures the only person feelin DMG is some white chick.

Who's the artist? Beautiful! I love the contrasting patterns.

Hi, The Good Nurse,

The moniker is my way of mocking the obsession here with skin color.

We are ALL hybrids.

Who cares?!

the good nurse said...

medium white,
i hear u, but unfortunately this country has been and continues to be not only obsessed with skin color but also with attempts to categorize a people based on their nation of origin.
i bask daily in the beauty of my blackness, but their are many of my people who still suffer from emotional scars related to slavery and it's effects.
so, before you are so quick to say "get over it" take a look at American history and see all of it. again, welcome and I hope u are able to learn something here as we all have.

You don't like white people? A "white" chick is your inferior?

Tell me how you feel.

who said they don't like white people?

DMG,

It's much easier for some to shoot the messenger (or to use the ever-compelling moon-June-spoon-loon-rune-Lorna Doone tactic) than to refute the message.

Quite a bit of this in most of the "debates" on this blog!

Sorry nurse...SMF made a comment, just asking for clarification.

"We are ALL hybrids"

Classic. I am a person the World. I celebrate my diversity as long as I can talk about the good stuff. As long as I can consume difference life is just peachy, but don't tell me stories about how some refugee from some exotic place finds life difficult in America - let's just enjoy the variety of cuisines we now have as a multicultural nation.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind if you tell me some sob story about 13yr old Kenyan kids picking tea for a living; I can buy fair trade or better yet buy American. But don't tell me about the Mexicans who are here illegaly working on those farms in Cali for a pittance, I'm an American supporting American farmers.

And please, no more of this race talk cos' we're in post-race era now. We have a good looking Black President - what more do you want? I don't care if Michelle Obama's ancestors were White slavemasters - who cares? Why should I care about "minority" history?

Why should I think more deeply about hybridity and how it functions - that's anti-Plantation propaganda, I'm an American living the American Dream.

Let's celebrate that!

the good nurse said...

oh, ok dmg. thanks for clarifying for me.

medium white, what are u talking about?

MOTI,

Now to you. Nobody is nipping at your heals. You give yourself far, far too much credit. Actually, what you are experiencing is the daze after being repeatedly kicked in the head by my size 12's.

Unlike you, I try not to assume. You placed a picture of a beautiful woman on your blog. It is much appreciated. If she were a bit rounder around the face, she'd look like my aunt. People may think your idea of a "sista" is what we see: a woman who appears to be of mostly African descent. (Or maybe you mean she likes to dress in 70's fashion...who knows with you). But your definition isn't clear, as you put up a two dimensional picture without comment or reference to what this lady is all about. This could be the picture of the nurse who sold out the men in the Tuskeegee experiment for all I know.

Now about your assumptions. I'm far smarter than you could ever hope to be. Not bragging. Just stating facts. But MOTI it takes so little intelligence to see through your bullshit, that an anecephalic could call you out.

I went from high school to making my own path, without aid of financial investment from anyone but me and my two hands. Don't any use for pedigrees or connections. Don't need Match.com. Don't need light skin or good hair. Don't need fancy shoes or first class. Don't need the adulation of sycophants.

Never had a problem with intelligent women. The mind is the sexiest part of a woman.

If the lady is insulted, the lady can speak up. You step to someone on a blog, I don't care if you wear panties or boxerbriefs. I will respond. And I don't pull punches. You can't take it step out the ring.

Now that I've taken 5 mins out of my day to administer your daily asswhooping, I must get back to work. See you in awhile. Putain.

DMG,

To clarify, I didn't say I don't like white people. I just find it telling that the person who identifies with what you're saying is ......well, white.

"Don't need light skin or good hair."
Again, contradictory! You're married to a white woman dude. What are you talking about? You need the lightest skin.

DV,

Thank you Black Man for defending this Black Queen (but ain't nobody scared of DMG).

DMG said...

"I just find it telling that the person who identifies with what you're saying is ......well, white."

Why?

And if I AM married to a "white" woman? Are you saying I did it solely because she's white? Perhaps you'll marry a black man (any black man) because he's black? Does that sound reasonable to you? SMF?

I've like women. Period. From every continent and 20 or so countries. My ex-girlfriends look like the United Nations. What's your point?

I don't need the "lightest" skin. I need the most loving woman, who is intellectually stimulating and has my back. Has nothing to do with the number or activity of ones melanocytes. SMF.

Crack a book. Or is that beneath a "royal"? SMF.

medium white,
I hope you didn't consider that a personal assault just a mockery of anti-history and pro-multiculturalist cliches one hears all the time. Welcome to DV.net.

DMG,
Can I ask y'something as a Black man married to a White woman. Aside attraction and romance, do you think that Black men marry across racial lines because of the myth of the Angry Black woman? And what do you think of President Obama being married to a Sista sends the msg that the Black Family is a national symbol?

I'm not speaking within the confines of race - it can be quite limiting to see everything in terms of race. I just wanna know what your take is.

...peace

And what do you think of President Obama being married to a Sista sends the msg that the Black Family is a national symbol?"

First, I don't believe in the concept of "racial lines". It was manufactured by people who read too much into skin color and think of "race" in terms of superior and inferior.

I think people marry for alot of different reasons. I DO know black men who would sell their own mother to sleep with a "white" woman (any old hefer will do, as long as she's light/bright). I hold them in contempt. I know black men and women who go nuts over "good" hair and "bad" hair. There's an entire industry built upon that concept...lest we forget the brown paperbag test.

Myth of the "Angry Black Woman". I've never categorized anyone as such, but I've heard it...(and have had the "ABM" moniker applied to me). I think black women in general have been maligned, and marginalized or turned into "magical creatures" by the media (Oprah) who have "wisdom". It's all bullshit. Some do, some don't. Some black women make great partners some don't. Same as white women, or whomever else you want to categorize. The black women I've dated have been brilliant and driven. For some reason or other things didn't work out. But that's dating. You connect with some people. But you have to realize, none of these women shared common backgrounds. One was from Sudan, another moved to the U.S. from Eritrea when she was younger. Another was from San Francisco, and grew up in an artistic semi-hippie family. Another Danish, whose father was Tanzanian. Maybe our host doesn't consider these women "sista's", because they don't share the typical black American experience...but, I'll be honest, I've not dated many women who have U.S. Passports. World's too big.

Obama isn't sending any message other than that he found the love of his life, and loves his family. Like any sane man. He and I actually share our taste in women. Intelligence and confidence (real not false) is sexy. Period. Do you think he'd tolerate defamation of his wife if she were "white"? Love her any less? Be embarrassed when black or white faces stare?

A better question is why do a number of (not all) black women cry foul when acomplished black men marry or date non-black women...when many (not all) of these women want someone (and this is a direct quote), "...more thuggish".

When I was younger, I was seeing this girl from San Diego, well to do. I was working 3 jobs, and going to school. She wanted someone with more...(what's the word MOTI?) "swagger" more "thuggish". She hit me up on Facebook a few months ago, three kids, unmarried. Not the happy person I met back then. She asked me if I was still single. I said happily, no.

Everyone has their preference, but if one wants a thug, there are consequences for onces choice in mate. Apparently she watched too much BET, and thought her suburb upbringing needed to be more hood. She bought into the manufactured lie. "Brotha"/"sista" whatever. Maybe we should stop categorizing.
