Well, most people do. Most people, however, don't make categorical absolute statements like you do. If you are going to pass judgment on Rachmaninov as compared to any other composer "throughout time", then it could be expected that you would know a bit about other composers since you are passing judgment on them as well. Besides the obvious such as Mozart and Beethoven have you ever listened to Brahms? Grieg? Tchaikovsky? Hayden? Bach?
