The founders of the American state understood that the proper functioning of a democracy required an educated electorate. A part of the clip omitted: at the end of his speach, Senator Obama brought it back to the people, referencing the ills of America. Highlighting the needs of the people outside of the hotel, without the expensive champagne, fancy dinners who need health care and jobs. With all the jokey aside, his concern is for the American people.
