Symbolically, that's all this "manhood" thing is really about in black America: The Colonized Minds vs. The Empty Minds jocking for favor in a world neither understands and doesn't care to understand. Both sides need to sit down somewhere, as far as I'm concerned.
While I concede that both men have that good ol' exclusively-black charisma - as a young cat, I find both of little value in terms of role models. Neither have shown me the courage and voice I equate with black manhood in '08.

Barack Obama and Curtis Jackson have much in common. I submit that commonality is spiritual clarity.
One expressed in politics the other in art.
Both are Hip Hop artists who make their living saying what people want to hear into a mic.
Mixed in with what they want to hear - is a lot of what they need to know and a little of what they need to understand.

My original post focused more on the video, but in terms of the blackness issue, I have to agree with this statement.
I don't see how anybody could dislike one of these guys without disliking the other. As far as God's gifts go, they're cut from the same cloth. The only difference is that 50 uses his gifts in a predominantly black arena while Obama uses his in a predominantly white one. Plantation negroes are telling on themselves.
Mad 'cause 50 talked himself outta the noose.
Obama's "good boy" route gives them hope that maybe their cowardice will pay off in the end.
Funny thing is, they'll never be as fly as Obama either. Tryna jock his "blue pills", but too simple to realize the brotha was eating Skittles. Clarity's a bitch.
