Well delivered, Denmark Vesey. When blacks dominate a field of endeavor it suddenly becomes a liability. Sexual attractiveness, intellectual prowess, and an inspirational style rhetorical leadership become lasciviousness, elitist or nerdy, and celebrity cult when skillfully executed by a black man.

Suddenly, for the first time, I'm hearing about machinations behind the presidency as if this were not the case with every single white male to hold the office. As you are well aware, even JFK himself openly discussed the probability of his downfall if he pursued peace with the Russians too aggressively. Roger Ailes of Fox News came to prominence as an image consultant for candidate Richard Nixon. James Earl Carter came to the White House with a broad and sincere humanitarian vision but was encumbered with a cabinet peppered with members of the Trilateral Commission.

Nonetheless, I expect the self-righteous cognoscenti will maintain their 'objective' approach and vigorously examine Barack Obama. Maybe there's more to this Black Supremacy than I considered.

Actually, he's been duped and sidetracked like most everyone else.

The whole point of a Black man/woman ticket is to reframe the election about identity politics...instead of our collapsing currency and impending NW0, etc. Not to mention bee CCD and many other vital issues to our future survival.

While everyone is asking questions about identity politics, no one is talking about the NAU, FRB, national debt, bank collapses and Zionist takeover around the watercoolers.

It's no different than how similar red herrings like gay marriage or abortion were used in previous elections also as smokescreens to allow warmaking and Patriot Act legislation.

If you think this election is about race or social progress, you are wrong. In the same way that the Iraq war "is about" liberation and democracy, lol

You see, that's where you're wrong because all politics, including your off-brand variety, is identity politics. One doesn't need the acuity of Michael Fisher to discern that every single one of the supposedly transcendent concerns that you raised are entrenched in identity.

Anonymous said...

Bee CCD is entrenched in identity?

Lol...uh, ok. I guess if that identity is "all humans in need of food crops pollinated by bees."

Shouldn't something that greatly threatens a huge % of our food supply be at the top of our priority list right now?

I don't understand how we can blow $8 billion/month blowing up Iraqis and $5 trill bailing out banks, but not a few million to research imminent threats to our national food supply.

If we were to properly order our priorities, issues like this should be near the top of our agenda and ID politics near the bottom. But the refusal to do this is why our country keeps collapsing from the inside out. While we were worried about abortion and gay marriages, subprime lending and the national debt were spiraling out of control. Now, while we're preoccupied with race and gender, our damn wheels are falling off..

Submariner said...

The dangers you describe all result from attempts by the global North to set the terms for relations and doing business with the global South. Of course, you would think such considerations are of lesser priority if not altogether irrelevant. The issues affecting me and mine because of race or gender are distractions from taking care of the 'really' important stuff which affect you. It's a typical response for relatively secure white males; kind of like what I suspect a sailor would tell the native cargo aboard a sinking guinea ship. "The vessel is sinking! Let's fix this thing. What does color matter? We're all going to die if we don't solve this." But if you're on the other side, your perspective may be a bit different. You might say "Yeah. I'll help you fix this shit, but only if you take these chains off of us and let my man, Barack, here be the captain."

During the presidential campaign, we have all witnessed that even a black male who assiduously avoids discussing race is accused of unfairly exploiting race to his benefit. Byrdeye, do yourself a favor. Whenever you see grown black folks talking, ask questions first before charging. Go back to the original post that prompted this discussion. Read your response. DV quite accurately discerned your enthusiasm to discredit the young man in question. Why was that? What were you trying to advance? Did you want to protect DV's readership from uncritically consuming falsehoods paraded on the Internet? Did you think that DV believed the young man and you wanted to safeguard his journalistic integrity and shield him from embarrassment? These are answers that you have to figure out for yourself. On 4 November 2008 your white countrymen will be asking a simpler question. How do you think they will respond?

Well, I think DV accurately projected his own White/light wimmen fantasies with that ridiculous prank video and on me. :)

But if you're on the other side, your perspective may be a bit different. You might say "Yeah. I'll help you fix this shit, but only if you take these chains off of us and let my man, Barack, here be the captain."

So, if your house is burning down or you just got shot and need ER - you will refuse help until the firefighting captain or head medic is Black?

If so, then you are a racist idiot.

If not, then you are a raging hypocrite.

So, which is it, my man???

------

And another REAL solution that's being ignored - the legalization of hemp as a highly-versatile crop that conserves much more water than cotton. Why is this also not on the bipartisan table?

Submariner said...

So, if your house is burning down or you just got shot and need ER - you will refuse help until the firefighting captain or head medic is Black?

The operative word here is 'your'. I certainly wouldn't refuse any assistance to further or sustain an enterprise that I own or control. You've merely confirmed my original assertion that what matters are "the 'really' important stuff which affect you."

From my perspective, the 'racist idiot' would be the white boy who expects or demands my assistance to salvage his burning house or stabilize his dying body. Inversely, the 'raging hypocrite' could be the white boy who arrogantly thinks he can put out the fire by himself or repair his injury. Either way it's the American slave vessel in need of rescue. The removal of chains and designation of captain are simply preconditions for us providing help. Rather easily met requirements, don't you think?

At least your asking grown black folk questions. That's a real improvement, Byrdeye. I'm very proud for you.

^ So, you feel like you have no vested stake in this country? You don't feel you enjoy any of the benefits of the infrastructure here and aren't eligible for affirmative action, gov loans, welfare, social security, etc?

And you don't feel like an economic collapse, police state or national food or water shortage would affect YOU?

IOW, you live off the grid in your own little "Black bubble" that is independent of and unreliant upon the rest of the nation at large?

And if living in a "White k-gaming" country = oppression to you, would you say that living under "liberated Black" rule in Africa would be better? And if not, does that mean that living in a "White k-gaming" culture actually uplifts, not oppresses you?

Submariner said...

Ah, I was beginning to wonder how long it would take for you to show your true racial animus. Since my youth, I have always known that white men who exclusively date black women, appropriate the argot of black urban youth, or, otherwise, have great affinity for black culture carry this thinly concealed venom within them.

You didn't let me down. You do justice, Byrdeye, to your Jeffersonian legacy. It's a great tradition passed on proudly by Twain, Fitzgerald, and Faulkner. Although yours definitely was not a bravura performance, you did keep to the script of first maintaining dispassionate objectivity with a modest degree of humor when called out on your virulently racist nature. Secondly, when pressed further charge the accuser with the very same crime that you are guilty of. Finally, when faced with incontrovertible evidence of your deficiency express the Ferraro gene and release your justified wrath. If you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way, Captain. (Boy, it plays out like this all the time. You'd think white people would develop a new move. Go left or drive hard to the basket or something. LOL!)

Submariner said...

My man, P6, put it this way:

I fully recognize that my interests overlap those of white folks, Mexican folks, Japanese folks, et al. But overlap isn't the same as coincide. If TAPPED can honestly say they have to deal with all the same issues that I do…if the neo-Confederates have the same reaction when looking at Robert Kuttner as when looking at me…if Harold Meyerson gets stopped for Driving-While-Black…if white folks start moving out of neighborhoods when too many people who look like Paul Starr move in…in short, when following up totally and exclusively on their concerned will leave no concern of mine unresolved, I'll consider letting them define what I should and shouldn't pursue.

These 'progressive' and 'enlightened' white boys who decry identity politics are all the same.

Submariner said...

One last thing, I promise. You should try Phenergan suppositories. They'll keep you from throwing up the chunks of your identity politics, you know "affirmative action, gov loans, welfare, social security, etc," which reside in the pit of your soul.

submariner - when all you have is a Jewish hammer, everything looks like a racist nail.

But, you never answered my real-life question:

If your house is burning down or you just got shot and need ER - you will refuse help until the firefighting captain or head medic is Black?

a) Yes, I am a racist idiot
b) No, I am a raging hypocrite

There, I made it easy for you. No essay answer required. Simply post a or b in your reply.

Thanks.

I defy Aristotelian logic, white boy. I'm sure you must have some X Clan in your music collection. Heed the word of the brother.

Yo DV, school your boy. I think he's taking this great white hope thing a bit too far. Fool must think I sell bean pies.

I could feel his muscle tissues collapse under my force. It's ludicrous these mortals even attempt to enter my realm.

Early 20th century boxer Jack Johnson was one of the few black men in history that created white anxiety about black equality. He was unafraid, his actions in and out of the ring were bold, and with the black public in his corner he achieved his greatest accomplishment. He challenged racial views about equality when he beat a white boxer and became the first black international heavyweight-boxing champion.

I apologize Denmark but I do get such a thrill out of dissecting these white boys. (Did I say that?!) So Byrdeye, it really is a script. Did your parents give it to you for your twelfth birthday or was it bestowed upon graduation?

It's so nice to have a virtual white friend. I'm having a party next weekend. Can I rent you out? I would certainly pay for your travel expenses. I just want to show you off to my family and friends. In this area we don't have any social exchanges with white folks. And you being so smart and all, it would be a real treat for my kinfolks to see you up close. If interested please use DV's email address as a back channel to get at me. I eagerly await your reply.

Your brother in the struggle,

Wow, what a wondrous display of smokescreens, flares and red herrings! Is it the 4th of Jewlie again?? So fun to watch a worm squirm! And I guess the ultimate prize here to validate a Black man as equal to Whites is a White/light wimman? Ok, got the message: White wimman are superior to Black wimman. Sounds kinda like...racism, though?

Anyhow, as interesting as your choice in historical Black role models are, back to the topic...a or b, submariner?

Sub..you my new best friend.

Big Byrd, what just happened was DV's fault. Don't feel bad. At least you didn't threaten to leave and never return.

DV, I been tellin you for months now that you were setting "Your Favorite Whiteboy" up for that one.

Can I nominate Sub for the "Jack Johnson Beat The Shit Out of A Whiteboy" award?

You a cold dude Sub.

Submariner said...

Thanks Prince. These neoconfederates have a deep attraction to black culture and so they're unlikely to react in the way you described. As vividly depicted here by Byrdeye, these neocons speak in a black vernacular, enjoy black company, and decry racism.

But outside of some cosmetic enhancements, they share their progenitors' beliefs about black inferiority. A look back will reveal that I, as a representative of my race, was duped, distracted by identity politics, racist, an idiot, raging, a hypocrite, and ungrateful for the fringe benefits of being enslaved. And, of course, my ultimate prize was a white woman.

Black people for these folks are opiates and DV is the supplier. I assume Byrdeye has to leave for Tbilisi and won't make it to my party. Pity....

Sub:

1) I am ANTI-neocon
2) I don't speak in e-bonics
3) I enjoy Black company sometimes like anyone, but am NOT Eminem
4) I decry racist double-standards

So...a or b?

^^ (Oh wait, just caught your wordplay on neoconfederates, lol. But no, not "neoconfederate," either..)

So I guess you must be using the King's English when you compose those little ditties of yours. I have heard of white revisionist rap historians who emphasize the unique capabilities and contributions of white performers but that is really good. I agree Denmark. Byrdeye is my favorite white boy, too. Can I borrow him sometime? He's so cute and he can even read Aristotle in the original Greek. Reminds me of Duran Duran's White Boys....or Wild Boys. Never can remember. Oh well. I'll get back to reading the collected writings of Hubert Harrison. Good day.

CNu said...

byrdeye begs you to tell him the truth about himself Sub; am I, and the tribe that I exemplify, SO awful - that you would sooner perish than see our status quo continue?

unselfconsciously failing to realize that he occupies the same political spectrum as those he pretends to decry.

after everything is said and done, his flailing would only be infantile and pathetic, however, these unevolved killer-apes are a danger to every human being on the face of the earth and to the earth itself.

Anonymous said...

"So I guess you must be using the King's English when you compose those little ditties of yours"

Well, ebonics is much closer to the King's English than any African language. So, who really has the deeper attraction to whose culture here?

Maybe it's time you stepped out of the forest so you could see it?

Let's put it this ways - if White culture was on one end of the spectrum and Black culture on the other - you'd be faaarrrrr closer to the White end. You speak English, wear "Western" dress and are probably Christian. Remember, language and religion are 2 of the strongest hallmarks of one's culture. And I wager yours are mostly Anglo/Jewish in nature - NOT African by any stretch.

I don't know Prince.

Sub is .... is ... a digital renaissance man, an internet version of Gordon Parks Jr. with a dash of Paul Robeson, Voltaire and Mos Def.

CNu. CNu is a beast. He is to discourse what a 21 year old Mike Tyson was to boxing. Uppercuts. Hooks. Cross. Duck. Bob. Weave. Push your nose bone back into your brain type intent. Then he will mellow the shit out with some musings on sacred geometry. [You know that just warms my heart]

But I'm going to tell you. Byrdeye aint no punk. I find those patronizing white liberal eager beavers dying for an opportunity to demonstrate largesse by apologizing for white advantage or kowtowing to Negro Victim entitlement the most racist motherfuckers of all.

The racial discourse these men just exchanged was more astute sincere and ultimately productive than anything on race that has come out of the NeoLiberal PC establishment in the past 40 years.

This thread should be required reading in American schools.

Submariner said...

The old "why don't you go back to Africa" line. Hmmm. A favorite of Lincoln's against Douglass. It didn't work then. It won't work now.

Since you've removed all pretense and vigorously embraced your Jeffersonian and Confederate legacy, let me ask you a question. As a white man, which is of greater importance to you? Image or self-image?

We can leave the original thread alone. It was readily apparent that you were following the European model of assertion and deception while I was adhering to a Kemetic tradition of argument and reason.

And you're right DV, this should be required reading for middle school kids, especially blacks.

"Some people try to get you out of slavery for you to be their slave."

DV - The sad thing is that real discussions like these would be automatically BANNED in any US classroom setting today. Shaddup and recite "I Have A Dream" again, kiddos!

submariner - a or b?

You still won't heed the word of the brother? Maybe it's time for a funkin' lesson instead.

The sad thing is that you deluded yourself into believing this was a real discussion. White people, as you have clearly demonstrated, are sissies incapable of having such a conversation. They imbricate pleasant ambiguity with lacerating defensiveness.

I choose c)

Great analogy. But I think Sub has earned a lil Jack Johnson or Ali mixed in. You gotta respect his swag.

CNU's comparison to a young Mike Tyson...another great analogy.

Indeed, Big Byrd is no punk. (You did good Byrd.) But he's kinda like Gerry Cooney. A big white boy with a decent punch who could catch you slippin. But his blows were slow predictable and lumbering. You could seem them coming from last week.

At 2:47 in round number 8, the 3rd man in the ring calls a halt to this bout.
