Hell no!
A sista said that!
From a sista " Hell TO THE NAW!!
I try not to support TRADERS!
Some months from now, the U.S. will hold an event that will allow a supposed change in our leadership.
Not really though. Business interests control the Political Price System.
Mainly this 'election' is a two sided affair supposedly.. a pageant that consists primarily of a propaganda based popularity contest.
To win that contest, the
participants cannot run afoul of any of the various segments of the voting population (inculcated sheep for the most part).
The truth of the matter is that as a candidate for the highest office in the U.S.- conformity is key..
to discuss real solutions that if implemented would mandate a change in the way we operate will not be part of the issues.
So, our elections are a sham – a diversion from the real needs of our society to function in our now highly technologically-oriented world.
Any politician – no matter how compelling in their speeches for change – is doomed to fail in living up to those higher expectations. They will fail because they must support an economic system created centuries ago for a way of life of centuries ago.
Mike Byron, a professor of political science in the San Diego area, recently wrote an article that was reproduced on the Internet titled, “Ruminations on Ruin and Renewal.” Professor Byron stated: “This collapse (our economic system) is inevitable because capitalist economies are based upon debt. Money lent today for some income-generating activity can be paid back by new wealth created in the future. Investments are based upon the expectation that new wealth will be generated to repay the loans. However, with declining energy supplies, production will decrease and less material wealth will exist in the future than exists today.
Once this fundamental change in our reality is widely understood, our whole global economy will collapse.” To put it in simple terms, the required expansion in our Price System economy is unsustainable and impossible.
So... Politics dead ends us. Only a science based society leads us forward.
That is non political.
Condi.. ? Obama..? Hillary..? I don't think so.
I kinda sometimes think Condi gets a bad rap.
On the whole, I'm inclined to agree with Skip. But right now I'm willing to participate in this pageant and the proposed hypothetical.
I love this. I know that Rice will never be on the GOP ticket. White ethnonationalists like Dobbs, Limbaugh, and O'Reilly are literally losing their minds at the thought of an Obama presidency. As our friend Craig Nulan has recently observed, these white men are navigating a hemispheric tightrope.
The turbulence caused by Condoleeza as VP candidate would be too much for them. They would have a collective Albert Finney's Network moment.
Seriously, this is just a talking point so that the GOP remains in the headlines while national attention is focused on the Dems.
But as to Skip's point, I see where he's coming from but race is such a major obstacle to any collective action that we need to break through this barrier before we can tackle substantive issues. Blacks have been here the longest and enjoyed democracy the least. If the nation is going to move to another mode of living then black folks will be the vehicle.
Race is the pillar that supports this nation. If America will ever be reconstituted into another form then the racial divide must be crossed. The truth is that this is less likely to occur among lower classes than upper middle classes.
Crackers in Pennsylvania are more vested in whiteness than their upper class counterparts. Because whiteness for them is property that can't be replaced. They don't have the material wealth and educational achievements that they can use for psychological reassurrance. What good is being white if you live in a trailer, are underemployed, and must salute a black POTUS?
Comment to what : RJEsq said...
Yes... we are way to hard on our mass murderers. She should be looked at with sympathy... like we look at Eva Braun.. Hitlers consort.
It was not her directly that killed over a million people in Iraq.. or made several million homeless. She just set it up// with her fellow born agains and neo-cons.
So jesus christ... cut her some slack. It is not like she is a monster or any thing. Right ?
Sub."Blacks have been here the longest and enjoyed democracy the least. If the nation is going to move to another mode of living then black folks will be the vehicle."
Lets hope that everyone pulls together at some point to create a new society. This one will be spinning into chaos and disintegrating in the next few months.. and we are going to enter a new social system.
The Colin Powell's and Condi Rice's and Oprah's are not going to tell people the truth because they themselves do not have the capacity to move forward with a different social system.
As we move into the coming time of chaos... lets just hope that ALL the American people will be protected against our political price System.
The politicians and business people will never agree or inform us as to a new system.
This will soon be between the American people hopefully with the support of the military.
Our political Price System must go before it destroys every thing and every body for only desultory reasons.
Human exchange is multidirectional. The Internet began as an entity designed by DoD to enhance war making capacity. Commercial enterprises then used it as a profit making vehicle. But it was also used by people like you to educate people like me about something like Technocracy which I would never have learned about.
Obama represents a tipping point. If the power elite approves of a black president then maybe radical thinkers like a Sievert or Nader can connect with the black proletriate in a meaningful way.
I'm not trying to maliciously single you out as a white man, but race matters. From Marx and Engels to Chomsky and Edwards, well-intentioned whites who preach social justice have either been outright contemptuous of blacks or largely silent on matters uniquely affecting them.

Condi has maintained some shreds of her blackness. She has promoted a lot of black people to high positions and she doesn't coon when it comes to racial isues. She is not a complete and total coon; she's just a war mongerer who is completely dedicated to enacting the Bush agenda. She holds her own in the White House though. It's really because of her that we aren't at war with Iran too.
""I'm not trying to maliciously single you out as a white man, but race matters. From Marx and Engels to Chomsky and Edwards, well-intentioned whites who preach social justice have either been outright contemptuous of blacks or largely silent on matters uniquely affecting them.""
I really despise the group you listed. Chomsky is a gatekeeper. Edwards an idiot that glorifies human toil which is now pointless (his father working in the god damned mill). Marx and Engels were strictly spin offs of 18th. cent. economic theory.. which is really 22nd century B.C. economic theory from Babylon... and really a dead end.
As a culture we are about to tear ourselves apart.
Black culture did make America great in the largest sense.
No doubt black culture will play an important or critical role shortly.
Hard to say how it is going to play out... we will know before very long though.
Condi is a no good bitch in my opinion. A real monster. She does not give a rats ass about any thing. Except maybe her bank account.
Be that as it may, Skip, it doesn't obviate the fact that the horrors visited upon Africa and her stolen children didn't warrant their serious attention or was subsumed as part of some larger struggle. Even your response, "No doubt black culture will play an important or critical role shortly.", can be interpreted in just the same manner that I described. Although I doubt that is your intent.
If Technocracy or another alternative model for living is going to take effect, it will be mandatory that it have a visceral connection with black people. For we made this thing called America. When I take my daughter around the Capitol there aren't any monuments and portraits depicting blacks. If I don't refer her to Roger Wilkins, then she'll never know that blacks made up ten percent of the Continental Army during the War for Independence. But without knowing this, America will never truly be her country. Blacks must claim our legitimate birthright. Black people must place our stamp on the national character.
I would ask you to restrain your logical contempt for electoral politics and for a moment just imagine yourself as a black partisan aligned with Barack Obama. My white brothers and sisters have genuinely surprised me by their embrace of the man. But careful analysis of his victories shows that he wins big in states with five percent or less minorities and those with more than fifteen percent minority representation.
Technocracy or some other alternative must do the same as Obama. Blacks will be the catalyst for any change that emerges and takes hold. If black people aren't at the heart of your movement, the best that you can hope for is to become another Greenpeace.
Your right... as well as Hispanics also.
Social change is going to be thrust on us though... if we are going to survive we must get rid of the present culture and start a creative one.
Real education.
Free housing, health care, transportation, etc.
We are currently in deep shit with the environment.. our true wealth.
In our original energy survey completed in 1934 a black university Tuskegee played a role... and there was a black section in Chicago and Minneapolis in decades past.
There were also Mexican/Hispanic sections in the south and west and also Indian sections in the south west.
This is an almost unknown history now.. the media has kept its mouth shut starting with an edict from Hearst a long time ago.
Women have also played a vitally important role all along in the past of our group.
The problem with Obama is that yes it would be interesting in a way and yes he is smarter... or perhaps a little more honest or clever than the others... but.. it is still the same problem. Special interest groups that control everything.
That ends in disaster.
Major Major change is needed and quickly.
A system that cuts out the caste or class system is a must.
Amen.
Skip said: "We are currently in deep shit with the environment.. our true wealth."
You deserve a hug for that one.
Ever read any books by Brad Blanton, Ph.D (Radical Honesty) or Derrick Jensen (Endgame Vol 1: The Problem of Civilization)?
Oops... Forgot something...
To answer the original question (from another sistah):
"NO"... Condi wouldn't get my vote. I shudder to think of her and McCain as top dogs in the White House. brrrrr
Major Major change is needed and quickly. A system that cuts out the caste or class system is a must.
Too late. The die are cast.
It's not gonna happen....,
Watched the piece CNu ...
Whachu mean, "it's not gonna happen"? I didn't get the Ronald Reagan connect.
"In Volume I: The Problem of Civilization, Jensen lays out a series of provocative premises, including “Civilization is not and can never be sustainable” and “Love does not imply pacifism.” He vividly imagines an end to technologized, industrialized civilization and a return to agragrian communal life."
Derek Jensen above. That will not work. It is romantic nonsense much like the anarcho primitivists. Glorifying the past and keeping the same framework of our Price System is another form of doom.
Brad Blandon is another bullshit artist. A corporate lecturer and a politician. He does not remotely get at the problem. Just advises people to act like barking dogs without knowledge of any real dynamic within the framework of the present system. More less a version of neuro linguistic programming which is a type of feel good hypnosis.
Sorry... it is fake alternative stuff. Gatekeeper stuff again. Glorified Howard Zinn. That whole group that cleverly misleads people.
Whachu mean, "it's not gonna happen"? I didn't get the Ronald Reagan connect.
Nothing of the magnitude required to shock these humans into deep orthogenic change is going to happen DV.
It's simply not in the cards.
What's instead in store is a massive die-off with associated architected retention of a highly technological, minimal regret human population, period.
I'll give you another illustration DV. Do you know what a compact nuclear reactor is?
Have you ever wondered why, given how long this technology has been available for the most elite forms of exploration and force projection, why exactly it is that it has never been utilized for commercial purposes in service to the greatest good for the greatest number of people?
I'll ask you another related one. How many people on the face of the earth do you suppose are capable of producing the extremely high quality weaponized anthrax that was used several years ago to kill a few folks here in the U.S. through the mail system?
Now, do you suppose that given the extremely limited pool of possible suspects, that the FBI would genuinely be unable to solve that case (Amerithrax) after all this time and given all those resources, and given the tiny population of known possible suspects?
(Submariner knows whereof I speak - there's also a pun hidden in the alias "submariner" when it comes to those compact nuclear reactors first designed and effectively deployed by Admiral Hyman Rickover)
All possibility of actual widespread change ended when the presidency of former naval nuclear engineer and submariner James Earl Carter ended. Then and there the die were cast for the long emergency which is well underway here in America.
Maybe... maybe not. The only hope is the overthrow of the system by the military with the American people. That is still a good possibility.
We will know in the next year probably. The long emergency could end up being a short one. It will not play out as expected most likely.
''They'' want to keep our Political price system going at any cost. However it is well known that it is impossible short of a collapsed fascist Globalism based socialist control ... called democracy still by them.
Chaos we can be sure of shortly. How long and what happens then is still up for grabs. That is why we are putting out our information to the public now.
That information is well known and has been for many decades by the war colleges and the intelligence services.
The military is not happy... or at least some are not happy for having been used for stooges and mercenary troops by Globalism.
Some are extremely angry.
A coup is a no contest if they can organize it at the right time with the right people.
Bush is another Hitler.
He is looking over his shoulder right now.

No, I do not.

No, I have not wondered that CNU, but, now that I think about it ... I would respond that it is naive to expect market driven phenomenon to operate in the best interest of the 'greatest number of people'.
"I'll ask you another related one. How many people on the face of the earth do you suppose are capable of producing the extremely high quality weaponized anthrax that was used several years ago to kill a few folks here in the U.S. through the mail system?"
How many people .... um ... I would expect that capacity to be limited to institutions (academic and or national intelligence entities). So I would guess less than a few dozen.
"Now, do you suppose that given the extremely limited pool of possible suspects, that the FBI would genuinely be unable to solve that case (Amerithrax) after all this time and given all those resources, and given the tiny population of known possible suspects?"
Oh ... Hell no. I suspect everything from the anthrax scare and the WMD lie to the 911 implosions were orchestrated by the same forces egging us onto war with Iran. (These forces I suspect transcend national political abstractions and morph into an ideological anti-Christ... but that's another story)

Nah.
What you, my young friends, fail to incorporate into your analysis is the transcendent capacity of the human spirit.
Unfortunately the price of your piercing educations included adherence to the dogma of radical secularism which insists 'Man ... is all there is'.
Whether the catalyst is a child in a manger or Junior Senator from Illinois - change is gonna come.
The child in a manger story was a lie. The Obama story also is nothing more than that of a stooge for Globalism and special interest groups.
A very different society will be upon us soon.
A horrible version with people like Obama and or other politicians... or a society for people and abundance within a sustainable resource base.

"The child in a manger story was a lie. "
LOL. Yes, yes of course Skip.
A "lie" told over and over and over again since a thousand years before the days of Horus and his virgin mother Isis.
You arrogantly ignorant products of the relatively juvenile 500 years of "Western Philosophy" declare anything you don't understand a "lie".
The 10,000 year old child in the manger story, which echoes in our souls, is FAR more real than your little religion of "Technocracy" which euphemistically call a "movement".
Energy Coupons? Come on bra. What an obvious communion substitute.
Obama is a prophet.
Stick around and I'll teach you why.
I don't think so.
Price System flunkies are going to battle soon.
That is the group that ''believes'' the religious lies are factual... and will fight and die for them.
You really ought to get a dictionary and read what the word secular means.
Having a Libertarian crack pot religious flunky version is... well.. not really of much value except to defend the indefensible.
A science based system is not a ''religious'' system.
A religious system is based on belief.
The stuff you are talking about is not factual. It is opinion.. opinion is never fact and is ALWAYS being stuck with nonsense as its basis of control with abstract thought ideas such as morality .. ethics.. etc. -- These concepts like so called Democracy are used to control the sheeple.
Thought constructs of slavery form the basis of this society.
That is democracy.
In contract form.
Obeying others opinions.
Obama is a devil worshipping fake that has been put up by the Price System.
This ends badly for all of us... especially Obama ... the type that will lie through his teeth and continue to trick and degrade the American people even now when America is about to go clunk.
