‘Look, man you haven’t made it until someone says you’re gay. That's what bitch niggas do when your success makes them sick.”

DV I give you credit .. When you LOVE something your all out kid! So let me let your prophet spit at you!

“There’s no doubt that hip-hop culture moves our young people powerfully. And some of it is not just a reflection of reality … It also creates reality. I think that if all our kids see is a glorification of materialism and bling and casual sex and kids are never seeing themselves reflected as hitting the books and being responsible and delaying gratification, then they are getting an unrealistic picture of what the world is like.”

So DV you going to withdraw your endorsement???

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is delivering pointed critiques of the African American community as he campaigns for its votes, lamenting that many of his generation are "disenfranchising" themselves because they don't vote, taking rappers to task for their language, and decrying "anti-intellectualism" in the black community, including black children telling peers who get good grades that they are "acting white."

Hopefully, all the comments on the last few posts will drive home the fact that human beings can't be accurately judged on the proposed discrete categories.

A gay man can exercise greater moral courage than a straight man.

An ostensibly "gangsta" rapper or Field Negro can be more slavishly adherent to corporate hierarchy than a presumptively Establishment Negro with an Ivy League pedigree who criticizes Hip Hop and decides to run for POTUS.

Very True Sub,

As a crack addict can exercise greater moral courage than can a sober person.

Doesn't make smoking crack healthy.

Pointing out the consequences of smoking crack, does not mean one "hates crack addicts".

Pointing out the inherently unhealthy nature of men having sex with each other doesn't mean one hates homosexuals.

It just means one is not afraid to acknowledge the truth.

Casper,

Since you don't know what to do with yourself, let me ask.

With what, would you replace Hip Hop, given your druthers?

DV are these the lamentations of a Plantation Negro?

Hey Mike,

Yeah man. I'd have to say so. I could only listen to that Aunt Jamima Jigaboo for a 1:12 of the video - but if you've ever heard any of that ignorant conformist Plantation Negro rhetoric before, you've heard it all.

These the same Negroes hated Miles and Bird during the Bebop era. These the same handkerchief head Negros hated the young Cassius Clay because of his relentless exercise at self-definition and self-aggrandizement.

It's always the most uncreative of us who choose to attack our artists.

Pseudo-educated haters like that women would have been burning books in Nazi Germany.

What did you think?

I think the woman is on the money.

Here in lies the problem! MF The total unshameful disrespect of our black sisters by black men(?). DV needs to be deprogrammed.. The gansta rappers/Universal Music Group have got him brain washed "lock stock and barrel".
