"He is no Martin Luther King Jr. I knew Martin Luther King. I knew Bobby Kennedy. I knew President Kennedy. You need more than speech-making. You need someone who is prepared to provide bold leadership. I'm supporting Hillary."
Taken as a conglomerate, Jackson, Young, Sharpton and Georgia Rep. John Lewis represent a sort of civil rights old boy network -- a black boy network -- that has parlayed its dated activist credentials into cash and jobs. Jackson, a two-time presidential candidate, has become a CNN host; Young was mayor of Atlanta and sits on numerous corporate boards; and Lewis is essentially representative-for-life of the 5th Congressional District in Georgia. Sharpton is younger than the others but a peer in spirit.
To the extent that the term "leader" is applicable, these four men likely represent the interests of Democratic Party insiders more than those of the black community. Both Young and Lewis have endorsed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton; Sharpton and Jackson have acted ambivalent, alternately mouthing niceties about Obama and criticizing his stances on black issues. - By William Jelani Cobb - Washington Post
African blacks and Caribbean blacks would have had the good sense to topple these buffoons in a coup d'etat long ago. Beat them with sticks and chase them naked down Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
They've been pimping their hanger-on relationships with Martin Luther King Jr. for 40 years. These Plantation Negros are peddling the support of African-Americans for the presidency of the United States of America - in exchange for what?
Jews are able to leverage their support for President in exchange for billions of dollars in assistance to Israel.
African-Americans appear to give their support to whomever happens to either a) "be black" or b) "like black people".
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are political twins. That's why the race is about race.

Hi DV,
I visit your site daily, but never offer input into the conversations. I just thought since you were speaking about the the good masters, I would send you link, this is a preacher demeaning Obama and questioning his "blackness", but in the same breath says that the Clintons are more "black" than Obama. Anyway, here is the link:

I think it's quite shameful that these civil rights era leaders would support Clinton over Obama.
With the little that I have read on the stance of the two canditates on major issues, there doesn't seem to be that much difference.
These old civil rights guys most certainly have a self interest motive here, or are suffering from the "crab in a barrel syndrome"
I remember when I was working in Washington DC for the Nigerian government.( during the Bill Clinton era) These guys were all over the places benefitting from fat juicy contracts from the Nigerian government. They used their position in the democratic part to supposedly lobby for Nigerian interests and were paid big bucks.
Most of the People in this neck of the woods who are following the US elections fully support Obama, if for nothing else but the fact that a black man would become the most powerful man in the world..... and why not.

Great point... Or the perception of which camp has or will provide attention to your race. So if the current polls suggest that a republican is not going to win then which evil does one choose... The devil you know or the devil you don't???
Saying that a choice between Hillary and Barack is purely about race is an over-simplification.
Though they hold many similar views, there are in fact real differences in their beliefs and in their perspectives. Hillary has been part of the nation's political elite for the past 35 years. 10 years ago, Barack was putting together Midnight basketball on the South Side. That's a real difference to me.
The Old Civil Rights Negros are dead as dust and most people consider them fully irrelevant except on King Day.
Obama a Half-frican American?
It has already been decided that Hillary is in, unless she can not beat whatever Republer they throw up.
