again, speakin' about it (or in this case rappin') vs. being about it i.e. getting on a specific cause/issue/bill/politicians neck/march in Jena/defense fund, somethin'
Nas is in my top 3 of all time.
and he's hot, no doubt. but he ain't gettin' brotha's out of jail any more effectively than the next joe.
not at all.
Actually Jasai,
He's getting a lot of brothers ... and sisters ... out of mental prison.
The types of prisons that make people think they can't compete, can't decide, can't overcome, and can't address the big picture.
Who wants to compete, decide, or overcome, and get over in this phucked society. Only bean counters and scam artists.
Society change is needed.
Not adaption to society.
The BASIC SOCIETY IS MESSED UP.
It only gets worse from here.
It is possible to change out of this system.

Yeah. Maybe Skip.
But to paraphrase Orwell, it's more fucked up for some than others.
It's really fucked up for a 19 year old 3 years into a 7 year bid for something others were essentially sentenced to rehab.
Agreed.
That person should be let out of jail unless it was a pathological crime.
Very possibly even most pathological 'criminals' now could be reformed, not put in a cage.
They should receive the rights and benefits of a good society.
Our system makes prison an industry. For profit.
If you have the contract for light bulbs, and toilet paper, you can become rich.
Our society is based on contracts, and private property.
That is Babylon culture, and that is what we are.
We can change into something completely different.
We are one of the few places on earth that can change out of the dream we are in to a reality that is so alternative, that most people can not grasp it, because of the brainwashing.
Conspiracy no. Human stupidity yes.
Change is possible. This system is not going to work.
A major change in the United States seems unlikely in the absence of some sort of dramatic event. And that event, if it ever comes, will push America to the Right, not the Left.
I don't see anything right now that can change the prison system.
Explore Technocracy friend.
That changes it completely.
If we can change what happened to these boys in Jena, we can change what has happened to the thousands of other boys just like the boys from Jena.
Believing we can is 80% of it.
That is possible, but it is not possible within the confines of this Price System method.
Our system is at fault.
Change the template, rules of the game, and the players change.
Unless we give up on this type of society we are doomed to more of the same.
Mores the pity, because we do not need this antique system any more.
Skip,
This society will not be "given up". It will fail.
As all societies eventually do.
The next society will not be chosen.
It will emerge.
If "Technocracy" is the savior you claim, we will see.
Personally, I'm betting on something with a bit more soul.
What could be more soulful than freedom ?
Real freedom, and real responsibility and knowing that one lives in a 'good society', and not the kind we have now, that is constantly trying to cash in on our hides.
A good society gives the exact same rights and benefits to EVERY one of its citizens. Any thing short of that is a scam society, such as the one we live in. For profit. Money business.

Believing we can is 80% of it.

THIS is what we are doing here.
