wouldn't have known about it if you hadn't mentioned it, and will never feel any manifestation coming from it aside from the occasional spurt of noise out of the car radio when my children get their grubby little digits on the channel button and move the dial to the disney radio station occasioning some or another snippet of their workproduct reaching my air for a few seconds before I slap it back to community radio KKFI.

Just curious, since I don't really listen to their music, and I only see them on the cover of glitzy entertainment, fashion mags or TV ( I have one which I rarely watch).

For black person who contributes to the improvement/upliftment of back people..... many, from Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, to Mr Mensah down the street who runs a community school
role model.....too many to mention....... John Mark from a small village in the Upper East Region of Ghana, 1st person in his village to go to university etc. etc.
Your rappers may also fit all of the profiles stated above, which is why I asked you to educate me on why you think one should feel either pride or hate at the sight of them.

do you buy and "read" tabloids conveniently placed at every point-of-sale at every grocery store or big box retailer you patronize?
personally, if the line is long, and there's nothing more interesting for my gaze to settle on in the store - I will from time-to-time pick one up and thumb through it looking for the most jarring booby, bikini, or monkey-in-distress photo that I can find, but damned if I've ever given up a cent for one of those rags.
Now those tabloid magazines are more omnipresent and regularly acquire more of my day-to-day mindshare than all three of these individuals combined.
I've never purchased a single piece of any of their workproduct. Never even accidentally watched all of one of their videos, and hells-to-the-gnaw I've never purchased any merchandise peddled under their respective brands or labels.
For all intents and purposes DV - your blog is the only node in my ritual habitual where I'm liable to see anything by, from, or about any one of these individuals.
