"Government" Pays Blackwater More Money Than They Spent On Katrina Relief

The U.S. government is sponsoring private firms “no bid” contracts for Iraq at extremely inflated prices. This is the real thievery going on.

What is the U.S. army for if not to protect the embassy? What in the world can justify “private” civilians carrying arms with no regulations in another country?

It’s actually illegal and there is a name for it. They are called mercenaries but the spin machine calls them private contractors!

A private contractor is a plumber or an electrician who works exclusively on your house and not a mercenary -- a killer for hire.

This is a sick double standard and the rest of the world sees right through it. I mean who do we think we are fooling? Do we honestly think that we can make the locals feel better about us by using different grammar?

We should stop being gullible and demand that the government ceases to allow mercenaries in any war where the U.S. military fights. Lee from USA

Mercenary fighters are part of a long and grand tradition, that dates way back in time, to our 'democratic' sister country Greece.

It is a money thing. People do it for the money.

Greeks fought Greeks on occasion as mercenary`s.

What are there 60,000 mercenary forces in Iraq currently ?

Contractors they are called now.

A lot of American soldiers are leaving the Army and joining Blackwater as well. It's like quadrupling your pay in one day.

So much corruption in this country and we couldn't stop it if we wanted to.

No it is the fabric of the country.

The fabric will tear and we may change.
