The word humane, as in humane society, is not a reference for some odd ball sect, but people that feel obliged to protect innocent animals from people that turn them into killing machines for their entertainment and also as a way to generate money.
They do that by beating, starving, and torturing them, in the name of dollar business.

"people that feel obliged to protect innocent animals from people that turn them into killing machines for their entertainment and also as a way to generate money." Skip,

do these so-called "humane" people feel obliged to protect innocent animals from people that breed them in factories, inject them with steroids, electrocute them, chop off their heads, and grind their growth hormone soaked meat into airplane food?

What's your point, that both are practices are barbaric or that niether is?

Good question Roch.

My point is that the Mob Condemnation and virtual media crucifixion of Vick, has nothing to do with dogs or humanity.

It has to do with hypocrisy.

The million or so cows, hogs, and chickens slaughtered in food factories every day are not treated 1 iota more humanely than dogs who die in fights.

No amount of psychobabble mumbo jumbo, humanity this, humanity that, dogs are our friends, rhetoric is going to validate anyone who dare cast a stone at Michael Vick, as long as they have a mouth full of chicken.

One is part of the food chain, and the other is a cruel and inhumane sport for entertainment.

However, I do agree with DV in that the "livestock industry/farming" leaves a lot to be desired.

How about one is legal and the other is not. If Vick were smart... He should have invested in a food processing plant which is legal. We could argue the merits of animals rights after the fact all day. But it's a little late. The law is what it is... And he broke the law not to pay his rent... That's for sure! Where is the outrage for the young man whether he was black, beige or white being responsible??? And before you say it for the record I have a $200 Vick jersey in the closet.
