U.S. soldier sentenced to 100 years for Iraq rape, killing

Sgt. Paul E. Cortez, 24 Cortez admitted that the plan to rape the girl was hatched as he and his colleagues played cards. He said the girl was an easy target because there was only one male in her house.

ID card of 14-year old girl Abeer Qassim al-Janabi who was raped in March 2006 in Iraq

"During the time me and Barker were raping Abeer, I heard five or six gunshots that came from the bedroom…After Barker was done, Green came out of the bedroom and said that he had killed them all, that all of them were dead."

"Green then placed himself between Abeer's legs to rape her. When Green was finished, he stood up and shot Abeer in the head two or three times."

The horrible crime lasted about five minutes, and the girl knew her parents and sister had been shot while she was being raped, the hearing heard.

The heinous crimes committed against innocent Iraqi civilians by U.S. occupation forces since the 2003 invasion have tarnished the image of the American military. But the rape-murder case could be particularly damaging to the U.S.’s image in Iraq’s conservative Muslim society.

Men And Earrings

At the risk of being labeled a "homophobe" (the new anti-Semite), I must admit the notion of men wearing earrings is inherently foreign to me.

Yes, yes of course I was raised by homophobic barbarians who taught me to "hate" homosexuals before I learned to talk. However, I am hoping one my enlightened friends from cyberspace can share some insight on this strange yet growing phenomena that might save me before I am forced into psychiatric treatment for my homophobia.

Cornell West Fires At Barack Obama

I hear you Cornell. But ya'll civil rights Negroes were Clinton sycophants for so long, it's difficult for me to take your Barack cynicism seriously.

The truth speaks for itself.

Minister Louis Farrakhan spoke at the National Press Club in May of 2004. He shared with the audience a letter he had written to President Bush in December of 2001 warning him of the catastrophe that would become of Iraq if he followed the NeoCon plan of invasion and occupation.

5 Years later he is proven 100% correct.

A Great American In Whose Symbolic Shadow We Will One Day Stand

Harry Belafonte Calls Rice 'Tyrant'
By Marc Morano
CNSNews.com Senior Staff Writer

Atlanta (CNSNews.com) - Celebrity activist Harry Belafonte referred to prominent African-American officials in the Bush administration as "black tyrants" at a weekend march, and he also compared the administration to Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany.

Belafonte, a featured speaker at Saturday's march in Atlanta commemorating the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Voting Rights Act, previously ignited a political controversy in 2002 when he likened then-Secretary of State Colin Powell to a "house slave."

At Saturday's civil rights march, Belafonte said the Bush administration has been "rather dismal" for the lives of black Americans. The march, which featured prominent civil rights groups and labor union representatives, was intended to drum up support for extending and strengthening the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Belafonte used a Hitler analogy when asked about what impact prominent blacks such as former Secretary of State Powell and current Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had on the Bush administration's relations with minorities.

"Hitler had a lot of Jews high up in the hierarchy of the Third Reich. Color does not necessarily denote quality, content or value," Belafonte said in an exclusive interview with Cybercast News Service.

"[If] a black is a tyrant, he is first and foremost a tyrant, then he incidentally is black. Bush is a tyrant and if he gathers around him black tyrants, they all have to be treated as they are being treated," he added. See Video

When asked specifically who was a "black tyrant" in the Bush administration, Belafonte responded to this reporter, "You."

The Original Non-Conformist

Deja Vu is an understatement.

This image lends testament to my contempt for contemporary negroe males overly invested in the plantation and with nominal attachment to black women.

#1 Most Powerful Woman In The World?

FORBES MAGAZINES #1 MOST POWERFUL WOMAN

"All news is lies and all propaganda
is disguised as news." Joseph Stalin

It's nearly comical the way conformists buy into the most ridiculous notions when delivered to them as "news". Here Forbes attempts to anoint a glorified servant - "the most powerful woman in the world".

Yeah. Condi is so powerful. Right. Barbara Boxer berates her in front of Congress, and damn near blames her personally for the entire Iraq War including 3,000 dead American soldiers.

All she could do is sit there looking stupid as she muttered nonsensical apologies to the dead soldier's families.

Meanwhile the NeoCons who actually engineered this war are nowhere to be seen but Condi's job is to run meaningless diplomatic errands and represent a US Foreign policy crafted by Israeli Lobbyists.

FORBES MAGAZINE:
"She is the first African-American woman to become the U.S. secretary of state. She advises the leader of the world's largest superpower and has an unparalleled level of trust with and access to the president. And she has served two other U.S. presidents, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. For all of these reasons, and more, Rice, 50, is the most powerful woman in the world."

Last Real Man In America

"Ralph Nader built a legislative record as a private citizen that would have been the envy of any modern president."

"Imagine if you got in a car, and the airbag said "Ralph Nader" or if the seatbelt said 'Nader' or you looked at the air, and it's cleaner, and somewhere it said 'Nader on it. If people would see that on a day to day basis, they would understand the effect this guy has had on their daily life."

"They killed him for saying there was not a dime's bit of difference between the two parties, and then the Democrats spent the next 4 years proving him right."

AMY GOODMAN: Are you planning to run for president again?

RALPH NADER: Too early to say. I think we need more voices and choices. I think the speech by former Senator Mike Gravel indicates there’s going to be a wider debate in the primaries of the Democratic Party, along with Congressman Dennis Kucinich. There are lots of people in this country urging Bill Moyers to run in the Democratic primary. He would certainly give it more depth. And I hope more independent candidates and third-party candidates run. We’ve got to break this two-party elected dictatorship that’s being measured by how much money it raises.

Marriage Is Cool Pt. 2

And a man who held his son asked "Speak to us of Children."

And he said:

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts.

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.

Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;

For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Moms With More Education Less Likely to Vaccinate Their Kids

Moms With More Education Less Likely to Vaccinate Their Kids

Women who never graduated high school are more likely to have their children vaccinated than women who graduated college.

To come to this conclusion, researchers examined data on almost 12,000 families from the National Immunization Survey, a nationwide survey of childhood vaccinations that includes information about ethnicity and socioeconomic status.

Children of less-educated mothers were 16 percent more likely to have up-to-date vaccinations.

The study's senior author posited that the reason could be the controversy regarding the safety of vaccinations, and a higher awareness of this among the educated.
