Quiet As Its Kept .. Lil Wayne Is Better Poet Than Langston Hughes

President Carter
President Carter
President Carter…

Sitting on the world, I got life in my hand
So these days I try to think twice when I can
Money on my mind as God as my witness
Love don’t live here and it don’t even visit
I do this for my uptown politicians
Walked in the kitchen and found a pot to piss in
Niggas ain’t satisfied until they mama missin’
Niggas ain’t satisfied until they mama miss ‘em
Uh, I’m a monster, exorcisms
Tote tools like mechanics, mechanisms
Uh, detrimental on any instrumental
I say you rappers sweet I pay the incidentals
I’m beneficial, I’ve been official
I say you rappers sweet, tiramisu
I like my short cake shorter
Ain’t no mother f-cker harder than (Carter)

Nobody gives you a chance, you gotta take chances
Your family tree, I will break branches
Cause I don’t give a f-ck, I put the ass in assassin
Smoke you like a blunt then it’s ashes to ashes
The future is born, put the past in the casket
If real shit is dead then nigga I’m a bastard
Uh, appetite for disaster
I want a full plate then another plate after
Uh, yesterday just died
Tomorrow never cried, the days of our lives
When shit get deep I’m never afraid to dive
Let the money pile up and until I’m buried alive
Ask who the f-ck want it, I bring it to your doorbell
Have niggas in ya yard like a yard sale
Smoking weed, getting head in the oval office
I changed the stars on the flag into crosses

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Insane Wayne

And I wish I could fuck every girl in the world
I wish I could fuck every girl in the world
I wish I could fuck every girl in the world

I like a long haired thick red bone
Open up her legs then filet mignon that pussy
I'ma get in and on that pussy, if she let me in I'ma own that pussy
Gon' throw it back and bust it open like you 'posed to
Girl I got that dope dick, now come here let me dope you

Young Money, man this shit so timeless
And I'm in the mood to get faded, so please bring your finest
And what are all your names again? We drunk, remind us
Are any y'all into girls like I am? Let's be honest

She wants me, she wants me
'Cause I got it all, shawty, tell me what you don't see
I will fuck with all y'all, all y'all are beautiful
I just can't pick one so you can never say I'm choosy, hoes

And Wayne say pussy, pussy, pussy
And weed and alcohol seem to satisfy us all, damn
And every time I think of stayin' with her
She bring that friend around that make a nigga reconsider, man

DV says "Lil Weezy a better poet than was Langston Hughes".

Ahhhhhh G.T.F.O.H.W.T.B.S.!!!

Brother DV - In Philly I was blessed to sit as a 6th grade student for a brilliant teacher named Rose Martin in the "Overbook Elementary School". Each year Mrs Martin had the "Black Poetry Panorama" in which we practiced for months to master poetry and skits based on various Black literary contributors.

We had to purchase blue jeans and a jeans jacket, fancy it up with glitter and then go on stage on a Saturday night at the large stage of a local high school auditorium and perform for the community. It was the hottest ticket in the community.

Here is the irony DV. A teacher who promoted the works of Langston Hughes is called "Black conscious" AND the best teacher at the school. (Today she remains as my best teacher, including college).

A teacher that brought the collection of works by "Lil Weezy", "Cash Money Millionaires", "Birdman" and the "Juvenile" for academic appraisal by the students would be rightfully run out of the school and might face arrest.

Bro. Feed has gone straight to the heart of all-a-dis bullshit.

Feed, which one of these "poets" young Langston pictured in the post or lil'beezy pictured in the post would be permitted to court DV's daughter?

Everything else is just transparently silly conversation...,

The Plantation Negro Thought Police Strike Again

it's a damn shame
tamed lames

blinded by fame

can't see
Lil Weezy
n Paul Lawrence Dunbar
the same

I'm talking poetry.

You cats talkin petit bourgeois notions of propriety.

You are not considering art. You are choosing sides.

But I understand.

Years of Plantation schooling taught you what to think. It did not teach you how to think.

Since you were children government schools spoon fed you stories of pre-approved "African-American literary, civil rights and sports, heroes."

Every February you wrote your little reports about James Baldwin and Harriet Tubman.

In the eighth grade you did a 'multi-media' presentation entitled "How George Washington Carver Invented The Peanut".

You weren't taught critical thinking.

You were given a Group Identity.

Langston Hughes was one of the people you were taught to admire. You say you read him. But you can't quote him.

Your worldview was shaped before you took the SAT.

You resent Lil Wayne because he mocks your value system.

In your mind the model of black success isn't supposed to look like Weezy F. Baby.

In your mind the model of black success is supposed to look live Deval Patrick. Or Patrice Lumumba. Or Levar Burton.

...

...

I'm not taking anything away from the great Langston Hughes.

I'm challenging the arrogantly ignorant assumption that the literary achievements of a 26 year old black man from New Orleans can't compare to the literary achievements of James Baldwin, Walt Whitman or Pablo Neruda.

{Here is where Makheru Bradley rolls his eyes and pastes lil wayne's sexually explicit lyrics as if sexual lyrics disqualify an artist from serious consideration}

We live in a pornographic society.

We live in a violent society.

Is it really a surprise that the most compelling artists of our time juxtapose sexual and violent metaphor in their interpretations of reality?

Brother DV:

I love you man.
One day all of us are going to hook up on the north shore of Cuba and smoke some cigars.

IN THE MEAN TIME - I agree with you that Weezy MOCKS THE VALUE SYSTEM!!!

I AM CLEAR on my VALUE SYSTEM and that's why he is a PUNK in my book.

I told you before that the "Mrs Officer" was his attempt to "F The Police" LITERALLY.

What you don't appear to be able to see, Brother, is that all along HE successfully makes a "lady cop" compromise her badge and become a WOMAN again as he disassembles her into her physical elements.

*Her booty
* Her sexual appetite

He made her call off from work.

Seriously DV - project YOUR daughter 20 years from now. Would you want to have her be the female lead in the real life script to "Ms Officer"?

You are better than this bro.

Weezy is like consuming laboratory modified meat and then wondering why you have diarrhea as you look for a concoction at Walgreens to make you regular again.

NOW you talkin.

Might have to put that together.

Conservative Feedback

1) What makes your value system more valuable than his value system?

2) Has your value system paid off for you the way his value system paid off for him?

...

...

punk?

Nah man.

Punks can't write like that.

Feed is truth! Accept no substitutes...,

History and culture obey the same laws as cellular life.

As cells perform different functions in the body of a man, so men perform different functions in the body of a culture.

Builders, engineers, and architects maintain and replace the structure of a culture just as their corresponding cells maintain and repair a human body.

Soldiers and policemen defend a culture as there are lymphatic reserves to defend the human organism.

Scientists and intellectuals direct a culture - just as there are brain cells to direct a body.

Poets, artists, and mystics form the emotional life of a culture, as there are nerve cells to conduct the emotional life of a man.

A man who is balanced in his functions and is led by a developed intellect is an advanced man. So, a culture which is balanced in its functions and led by its developed intelligentsia is an advanced culture.

Just as DeeVee wouldn't countenance a toad like lil'beezy stepping to his own precious daughter, so also, we should not coutenance beezy's emanations playing a role in the emotional life of the culture.

How does it come to pass that a man who professes such pure and exacting aesthetic standards in diet, fashion, transport, manner of living, and who disdains the toxic garbage mass produced, profilerated, and fed to the unwashed peasant hordes, cannot discern that beezy's toxic rhymes are worse than chitterlings and waffles?

Blind spot?

Hypocrisy?

Vivendi which owns Universal Music Group which owns Cash Money Records is the "artistic" and memetic equivalent of McDonalds and Monsanto....

Ahhh ... the bourgeois meanderings of a free-lance bureaucrat.

Technocrats fantasize a world where poets are licensed.

'Approved' and 'selected' by a group of "poetry experts".

Your faux arrogance does not mask your cornball ignorance.

The fact is, if you understood them, you would recognize Weezy's "toxic rhymes" are far more nourishing than the "toxic educations" Negros still covet.

Fact is people listen to Weezy.

People don't listen to CNu.

Learn something from the young brother.

CNu said...

nah..., jiggaboos listen to Weezy.

Ignorant, stoopid, and confused jiggaboos take his trifling emanations seriously - and elevate it to the level of "art".

No different than them fools scarfing up GMO and pink slime.

Vivendi laughing all the way to the bank feeding jiggaboo hogs this cognitive slop...,

It's every alchemist dream to turn wax into platinum as rap music often demonstrates but I prefer Weezy's influence to be exclusively for his new skater demographic rather than fill in the blanks were the Pentagon can't reach black youth.

Time/Warner, Disney, Viacom, Newscorporation and Bertlsmann doing their thing and got another Weezy to replace this one. But we're a nation of cultural gorillas and just as rap was unexpected and the media thought they had it on lock, some other innovation in music or film will come up.

That said Jay E is a poet.
