Damn Homey. You Used To Be The Man Homey.

I'm not saying this divorce stems out of Kobe's sleeping around. That may or may not be it. Don't know his business.

For this society to take absolutely zero responsibility for the atmosphere it generates, while expecting iconic figures to behave at "100% gentleman optimum efficiency" is unreasonable.

Tyson said some years back in an interview when asked about the "old Mike Tyson" returning to the ring, (misquoting of coarse but sticking to his key points): "You don't want the old Mike Tyson. That testosterone that I stepped in the ring with to knock out opponents, was still with me when I stepped out of the ring. It's not like a light switch that you turn on and off. It stays with me."

Here is this professional athlete that generated millions of dollars while entertaining millions of viewers. All parties involved endorsing and encouraging his use of extreme brute force in service of their own interests.

To be able to beat most of the world in a fist fight requires more physical and psychological modification than what the middle aged soccer mom undergoes jogging the university track after dropping off the kids at school.

Outside of a 24 square foot designated space, somehow Mike Tyson was suppose to revert back into the ocean of David Banners that pay to see him. Likewise, young men are expected to act as if the same belt that holds their pants up is an interchangeable leash holding their man-part at bay.

Selling sex is a part of popular culture. Do they think these athletes play Gordon Liu all through high school & college? Yeah the potential viral influences of Black culture or Communism or Islam are recognized and measures are taken to preserve our feigned freedoms. But when men act out popular culture's celebratory sexual exploitations then they reprimand them and tell them they were just "pretend pimp'n."

He was no longer the man when he didn't get a pre-nup. And he definitely wasn't the man when he through Shaq under the bus to the cops. Hell of a player but not the man.

Bro DV:

What's with the kicking a brother in the nuts as he is on the ground mourning the break up from his wife and new terms of visitation with his kids?

What about his wife's belief that they have "irreconcilable differences" in their relationship makes me "No Longer Da Man"?

* He is still of an age to replace any lost loot as he is not yet even at the 50% point of his career (unless he CHOOSES an early out or has an unfortunate injury)

* Brother man had some spare oats to sow before he got caught. Maybe this "New Normal" was not his cup of tea and now he is free, at least temporarily, to meet the WOMAN who is on his new, present level - that the young girl he fell in love with and married is not able to connect with him @?

* Those of you who believe in "redistributive justice" - there will be a new household with about $100M in cash upon which new spending and investment options will be exercised. His ex will hire her own investment advisers and could possibly "break something off" in the areas where her former spouse was reluctant in doing.

I thought that my man DV had empathy for a brother, understanding the famous words of Biggie:

"Mo Money More Problems"

Mannnn, we're seeing an institutional assassination of the character of Kobe Bryant led by the front office of the Lakers and the NBA. The suits understand the Laker Nation is still emotionally attached to Kobe Bryant so they are creating the perfect circumstances for the Lakers to be ass. Once the Lakers consistently under perform the "fans" will pretty much crucify Kobe causing him to demand a trade and/or retire. Why? Because they are ready to move to the next phase of the Lakers franchise. They do not want to spend the money/assets to provide Kobe with a supporting cast to go for another shot at the ring. In layman's terms, "that's enough, nigga."

His wife... she could stick with him through rape charges, but not through the end of the rings? Typical story. She should never have become more than "that chick that waits for Kobe after games." I'm sure he'll handle his like a man. I respect Kobe. He's a fierce competitor, and a dickhead. I can relate.
