1 Ron Paul Would Do More For Black Americans Than 10 Barack Obama's

There were more Black people in prison in 2010, largely for drug related "crimes", than there were black slaves in 1850.

Ron Paul campaigned for decades to end the War On Drugs.

Yet, many black people express reluctance to support Ron Paul ... because they heard he was a racist.

That's like a man running for president of Germany in 1938, who campaigns to end the Holocaust ... and Jews refusing to support for him ... because they heard he was an anti-Semite.

Brother DV:

Ron Paul, at the end of the day is STILL a "Politician".

Why do you vest so much in this one man with respect to "Helping The Negro"?

We are now operating in the "Mission Accomplished Formation" as voiced by Bayard Rustin who was the voice of the Post-Dr King meeting among "Black Leaders" to answer the question that King had cast: "Where Do We Go From Here?".

It is my opinion that collections of "Negro Interest Groups" - a substitute for the term "The Black Community" that you and my friend KCNu have repudiated - MUST form local or virtual "Master Mind Groups" by which they can leverage their talents to achieve COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE. (See the Koreans who run the "Hair Weave joints" in Black and White communities).

How do you operationalize Ron Paul's vision AMONG BLACK FOLKS? This is your challenge sir.

The various elements in the "Black Racial Services Machine" are presently pushing the notion that his NEWSLETTER has done more damage to Black people than has the common forces of consciousness that run Detroit, Flint, Chicago, Milwaukee, Memphis, Camden, Newark and Baltimore.

I understand that you are not trying to sell Black folks "Jesus" but there is a difference between marking out your own personal "Exclusive High Ground" where YOU see the light and doing ANALYSIS of "What Makes The Modern Day Negro Consciousness Tick" - thus offering "constructive feedback" as to why they can be heard saying among themselves "This Shyt Ain't Work'in" yet when they get back out on the streets they put back on their game face, ready to do battle in the "Malcolm X Political Football Game".

How do you get Black folks to see that "The New Jim Crow" is either a LIE or that the BLACK FOLKS that run the criminal justice systems in Detroit, Philly, Baltimore and Atlanta are TOO seeking to DESTROY THE BLACK COMMUNITY by locking up little Ninjas, allowing White folks to gain employment by keeping them in lock down.

In the cities listed above what we see is BOTH BLACK INMATES and BLACK FOLKS guarding them.

Yet the conspiracy theory (New Jim Crow) continues because it is a "unifying force" for Negroes that like to be placed in the "racially defensive position".

I don't think you could miss the point even worse if you tried.

This is a cursory dismissal when an analytical rebuttal was due.

Not trying to debate YOU.
Trying to illuminate an effective pathway forward for any who chooses to walk.

I also 100% agree Black people should give Ron Paul a second look based on his opposition to the war on drugs but I think you exaggerate to make your case.

In 1850, the slave population was 3.2 million (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Census,_1850) I link Wikipedia b/c the pdf at the Census Bureau is huge.

Right now, TOTAL of all races there are about 1.6M prisoners in federal and state custody (http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/pub/pdf/p10.pdf) of which Blacks are about 600k. Adding in local prisons adds about 500k more to the total population for the 2.2M prison stat in the US people often hear. With this boost the Black prison population is between 800-900k men and women.

Only about 25% of incarcerations are directly tied to drugs (http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/pji02.pdf) but some robbery/murder is obviously tied to drugs so let's say 50% are drug crimes.

I am all for freeing about 400-500k of us from this and yes there are people on parole and juve but it is a far cry from the 3.2 million slaves in 1850. Ron Paul has some great ideas but he is not the second coming of Emancipation.
