Wow, small world DV, when you mentioned the mounds in NELA (or as we like to call them, Poverty Point) I briefly flashed back to something i'd heard along time ago about Verdiacee and the Washitaws. I'm definitely surprised to see you go on to mention her/them here.
She's supposed to be related to the fam somewhere down the line, 3rd, 4th cousins, sump'n like that. I remember her being featured on a local news show early one morning as I was getting ready for school, talking about various treaties the U.S. violated, and how it illegally seized Washitaw lands.
