His "concern" is supposedly environmental.... so you would think that he would be concerned about reducing population in areas that are the largest, most greedy consumers of energy... but somehow, I do not think he is trying to address the US when he discusses a need to reduce population, considering what a huge industry infertility treatments are.... nah, the proponents of population reduction simply want to reduce the number of people in areas other than the "Western" world, which has more to do with them wanting a "whiter" world then their stated goal of a "greener" one.....

"The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has put $100,000 behind research into using ultrasound as a temporary contraceptive for men. If successful, it would be a means to provide low-cost, non-hormonal birth control for up to six months.
The idea is that a well-placed round of ultrasound treatment would be enough to stop sperm production for six months, rendering the subject temporarily infertile. More clinical trials are needed, to achieve "maximum effect and safety" (I should hope so), but eventually the method could be a non-invasive vasectomy alternative. Even better, it could be rolled out across both developing and first-world countries.

And of course, here's the pink elephant in the room. Ultrasound is invisible. Whose to say that at some point it won't become involuntary? Maybe a "complimentary" sterilization everytime you walk through a metal detector to go with the free radiation.
