Plantation MD's Now Claiming Obesity Can Be Caused By Virus ... Vaccines To Blame?

Western surge in obesity may have been caused by a virus

By Jeremy Laurance, Health Editor

The obesity explosion that has swept the Western world over the past 30 years may have been caused by a virus, scientists have said.

Researchers have discovered new evidence for an illness they have called "infectobesity" – obesity that is transmitted from person to person, much like an infection. The agent thought to be responsible is a strain of adenovirus, versions of which cause the common cold. It has already been labelled the "fat bug".

There are more than 50 strains of adenovirus known to infect humans but only one, adenovirus 36, has been linked with human obesity. CONT =>

I may be reading this wrong, but it sounds like the current research assumes (or wants us to assume) a causal relationship (virus = obesity).

If you call obesity (a symptom) by its likely cause (poor nutrition) and read the equation backwards, the headline might say:

"The depleted immune systems of poorly nourished children unable to fight off adenovirus"

I find this push to make a disease of poor behavior (obesity, road rage, etc) quite disturbing.

Search the refrigerators... not the blood.

Not buying this. Even if their hypothesis is correct that a strain of adenovirus infects adipocytes and causes their proliferation...that doesn't mean a person will be obese. Most will agree that the number of adipocytes (fat cells) are set at a young age, like 4 or 5 years old. I may have the same number of fat cells as an obese person, the difference is my fat cells are a normal size, the obese persons have hypertrophied. A person still needs to put fork to mout to be fat.

Not buying that.

All people 'put fork to mouth'.

What is on that fork determines who is obese, who will grow tits, who will get diabetes, who will get cancer, who will have allergies, who will have acne, who will have emotional problems, who will have children, who will not have children, who gets married, who stays married, who is a Plantation Negro and who is not a Plantation Negro.

Why do I have to keep explaining this to you? If you are a 5'6" woman who weighs 125, who eats 5,000 kcalories per day of Whole Foods, "non-GMO" food personally bought, approved, prepared, and served by YOU, but expends 1,800 kcalories per day, she's going to get fat. Period. Or where do you think that excess 3,200 kcalories are going?

Do you think there were no obese people 150 years ago? 1,500 years ago?

If a 5'6" woman who weighs 125 eats a 500 kcalorie bag of greasy potato chips once per week, while consuming 1,800 kcalories per day and expending 1,800 kcalories per day because she rides her bike to work, and exercises 4 times per week, she's not going to get fat.

Extreme examples, but it makes my point. You continue to try to make the extreme point that there is some secret additive in food that magically without consuming anything extra makes you fat. Junk food probably does contain higher amounts of sugar, salt, and fat that have detrimental effects on your body. That's not in question.

I've said this a thousand times to you. I agree that people should eat high quality food, and foods with high salt, and sugar food is not good for you etc. Stop distorting the message.
