Depends on where u live, in Southern Africa nuffin abnormal abt brothas wearing these cos there's a much lighter almost beige type mainly worn by farmers and schoolboys in boarding school (they were a must on my brothers schl lists) they're called velskoons. Its Afrikaans and roughly means 'felt shoes'.
Always wanted a pair, but they didn't make velskoons for girls so I was glad when they started making 'em for girls in South Africa with the different colours. I recently got a slightly darker brown than in the pic, very comfortable and gr8 4 walking.
