Bassist and youngest member of The Isley Brothers, Marvin Isley, died on Sunday morning, June 6 at the age of 56.The New York Times reported that Marvin's death was caused by diabetes, the disease he has fought for more than 20 years.
Marvin passed away at the Seasons Hospice within Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, according to representatives at both facilities. The late musician stopped performing five years after The Isley Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.

The fact THAT a Black man was killed in Oakland is not what they are protesting. This is commonplace as about 125 die at the hands of a gun each year.

These protests are almost exclusively over WHO killed Oscar Grant and the ideological associations have to this authority.
Its not that I dismiss the reasonable expectations that the police should act more responsible than a street criminal. It is when the GAP of expectations put upon the police versus the Street Pirates is so large that the HUMANITY of both figures are lost in the cloud of ideological disconnection with the real world on the street.
Our community will continue to squirt masses of blood from stab or bullet wounds unto this basic disruption in rationality is addressed.

Surely there is no reason for us to even think about the recent dragging deaths in Texas ( Theresa Adell Ardoin), and South Carolina (Anthony Hill).
