Looks absolutely delicious! Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is kale and not the romaine lettuce you said you'd use on Wed. right?

She changed her mind. Said she wanted to use the kale before she picked the Romaine.
It was good. The cucumbers had kind of a pickled flavor to them. And they were kind of cool. And the day was hot. So it matched up really well.
I felt really good after I ate it.
Which is becoming more important to me about what I eat. It makes sense to eat foods that make me feel good.
Digests easily. Plenty of energy. Wasn't hungry 2 hours later.
My stomach was empty. But I was satisfied.
Know what I mean?
Food truly is the best medicine. A steady diet of living nutrient rich food can help a brother not need ... eh um ... "the care" ... of a Plantation MD.

Dag...that does look good. I crushed a bowl of roasted garlic hummus and homemade salsa for lunch (red, pablano and serrano peppers, garlic, tomato, cilantro, lime juice, cucumber and sea salt)...I know what you mean about feeling good after eating. I can eat something like that for lunch around one, blueberry juice and a banana for breakfast around nine...I'm good pretty much all day...plus the Chia seeds, man.

Most definitely...brought some to work and of course n!ggas wanted to clown talking about "he over here eatin' birdseed...". Did a little research and showed it to 'em...got three people swearing by them seeds now. Each one/teach one, you know how it goes.

this looks so delish! I eat kale and collards this way...sooooo goooood....folk wanna know why my skin is so smooth and blemish free...I tell 'em it's not what I rub on the outside, it's what I place on the inside that does the trick!

I assume the kale is slightly cooked to help soften the texture, since it is a "hearty" green like collards?

i actually use a marinade of olive oil, lemon juice and herbs of choice to tenderize my greens...not sure what Mrs DV uses.

I just talked to her and she said she does it exactly like you said: marinade of olive oil, lemon juice and herbs. She said she 'massages' them too to tender them up a little bit.
Her Side you should throw one together. See if you like it.

DV, you ain't said nuttin' but a word. LOL I love kale, but I always have the "old southern" preparation - cooked down with a ham hock or smoked turkey. I won't hesitate one second to try this awesome green in a raw salad preparation.

A footnote to the good nurse:
I too wonder why folks believe good skin comes from a chemical in a bottle. When my skin looks like crap, I know it has nothing to do with an absence of harmful creams. I know for sure I put all the wrong stuff in my mouth and it is seeping from the largest organ of my body - the skin!
I can see right away when I have missed my motherly duty re: vegetables. My 16-year old shows the signs in his skin right away (coloration). My 10-year shows it with fine bumps and colds.
I'm pretty sure we'll all glow like angels after my next grocery trip. As a single mother, I often drop the ball with the family menu. I have a whole 'nutha plan for the next trip. I thank this blog for the constant reminder to stay on top of this game. What better gift can I give to my children than love, nourishment, and life? (Mind, body, and soul).

i dig this site like crazy, i check it daily (u even permanently posted my words on the side and er'thing) however ur passion for lil wayne throws me completely off:/ n for as much healthy food as u promote all this guy talks about is stuffing poison in his nose n mouth...i know ur as close to perfect as it gets n we couldnt ask for a better website but weezy; "the greatest rapper alive" sure doesnt say much for living rappers:/
