AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'm cheering like I just hit the damn lotto. Man oh man. Little Brother has got that THANG.
Great feet, quick hands, smart tie ups, muscled him when he needed to.
Straighten those punches out and he will be the truth!
Tell him his Uncle is tooooooooo proud.

The Big R! My man! I sure will tell him.

Thanks brother. That will keep him going.

Dude is training so diligently. I'm proud of him.

Major congrats to Lil man!! I hope you took him out for some Chia seed, homemade, organic ice cream after the win!

My two cents:

That was close. If you notice, the opponent's hands rested higher which made it tougher for Lil D to land straight jabs. He leaned in a bit too much to try to land jabs to the body then he got caught on the break a few times while retreating to a safe distance. I like his head movement and ducking. His left hand rests too low for my taste but his D is alot better. still room to grow obviously but he's very good.

What was up with his headgear? I guess it got loose, he was uncomfortable or it affected his vision, so he started adjusting it way too much. It may not have been as close if the equipment held up.

A joy to watch man. The other boy was active, very well trained, no fear. Its nice to see DV fighting a good opponent.

Maaaaaan,

KP.

I'm going to have to get you on the phone with little man.

You are on point and those some of the things you pointed out last summer.

That kid was 10 and 0 and expected to take the whole tournament. His D was tight. They are going to meet again in the Silver Gloves and maybe in Kansas at Ringside.

You are right about that left hand. Seems like athletic fighters who move / dance often carry that left hand low.

His trainers definitely don't want him to reach.

We watched Amir Khan beat the shit out of Pauli Malignaggi last weekend for carrying his too low.

That's something we are going to work on.

His headgear?! Dude! Tell me about it. That's the joke of the gym.

Man, I don't know what to do. I've bought 3 different sets of head gear for this cat. He's always messing with it and at the wrong time.

I told him his head must be too big and we are going to have to make him a special head gear out of an old Lazy Boy chair or something.

Thanks for the pointers. I'll pass them on.

Hey D.

Not old enough for Camp Lejeune. Hopefully next year for Big Brother.

Kaaaaaay Duuuuuuuub!

Nah. That's your nephew.

Lose interest? Noooooooo.

Big Brother got into girls, clothes and deodorant for a minute. (Middle School) But competition has brought him back into the fold.

Is it that is head gear doesn't fit right? Or does it move when he sweats. Either way looks like he moves pretty well. Good stuff.

Sweat? Um.

Didn't think about that D. Good point.

It might fit when we lace up and then slide around during the round. That makes sense.

I don't know what to do about that though.

Talcum power? Crazy glue?

Would hate to lose a fight on a humble.

Might have to switch from Title to Adidas.

Well you might make sure mom isn't lathering him up with too much lotion or other moisturizers...he may be boxing, but he's still moms baby, if you get my meaning. And I know very few black mothers who would send their baby out looking ashy...

I know a few absorbent skull caps are made, that are thin so it won't be bulky like a head band. I think Under Armour makes one. Not sure they make them in his size. Maybe try it out, see if that helps. Good luck.
