But nah man. I got the idea from YaVaughnie. Remember the chick threw up the billboards in Times Square last month?

Yeah. I got this smaller slot on 43rd and Broadway for $12.5

Not a bad a deal huh?

As in you got this put up in the city for $12.5? Wow, talking abt taking DV.net to the next level.
I thought you did this using one o'them online programs like Photofunia.

Dr. Mercola says you ought to review using those deodorant crystals. I knew something wasn't right with them!

What up M?! Yeah I saw that.

Gotta be careful.

I use the Thai deodorant crystals.

They are aluminum free.

I'm glad to see folks even thinking about this.

Remember years ago people would spray and rub industrial chemicals under their arms without a second thought?

Too bad Breast Cancer had to become an epidemic first.

If we could get every "pink ribbon" person out there to switch to aluminum free crystal salts ... think how many lives we could save.

DV you are blatantly incorrect and have fallen for the marketing bullshit that many so called natural products use to exploit ignorant people like you and me. When they say that their deodorant doesn't have aluminum, they are splitting hairs. Perhaps the product doesn't have aluminum chlorohydrate but it does contain ALUM, which is an ALUMINUM SALT in this case. ALUM can be a salt coupled to any trivalent METAL such as aluminum but in this case they use Bauxite ore which is ALUMINUM ORE to get the alum. I went to the website where they sale thai deodorant crystals and they say this:

"Alum is a salt. Aluminum is a mineral. Alum is taken from Bauxite ore. Alum is in no way harmful to your body. Aluminum has been suspected, although not proven, to be harmful. There is absolutely no Aluminum Chlorohydrate in our deodorants. In fact our products are so safe they are used in the purification of water in some countries."

Just as you ask people to think critically, I ask you to do the same. I mentioned a few months ago that I broke out into a serious rash and hives due to these crystals but you told me to try the spray. I was curious what went into the crystals and am saddened that I too fell for the hype.

Now, I don't use any anti perspirant or deodorant product except body oils on occasion or perfume. If I find out aluminum is in my perfume I'll give it up.

lol. I'm blatantly wrong M?

wow. my fault.

I don't want cancer or alzheimer's, so thank you for pointing this out.

But I'm a bit confused. Maybe you can help me out.

Here is what I read from Mercola:

"The aluminum in crystal deodorant stones is a different type of compound known as an alum, the most common form being potassium alum, also known as potassium aluminum sulfate.

Potassium Alum or Ammonium Alum are natural mineral salts made up of molecules that ARE TOO LARGE TO BE ABSORBED BY YOUR SKIN. They form a protective layer on your skin that inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria. These deodorants are recommended by many cancer treatment centers.

But while this may be a better alternative to most antiperspirants and deodorants on the market, it is not completely aluminum-free.

Final Recommendation:

Please note that this recommendation is for antiperspirants only, not deodorants. Many confuse the two. Nearly all antiperspirants use aluminum or alum-based salts to achieve their sweat reduction effect."

Help me out M.

This sounds much safer to me, though not 100% perfect, to the chemical deodorants and antiperspirants most of us use.

Is that a safe assumption?

Mahndisa S. Rigmaiden said...

I cannot say you are making safe assumptions because the statements that the makers of these products made is false.

They used to say that regular ole antiperspirant was not harmful and indeed it is still sold in the markets with no warning labels. But we all know that they can be dangerous.

To say that a product is aluminum free when it is made out of a salt of aluminum is faulty advertising. Aluminum is a trivalent METAL not a mineral. It can be found coupled to other elements in mineral form like bauxite.

With that said, Dr. Mercola's statements that the compounds are too large to be absorbed by human skin should be further investigated. But bear in mind just because we cannot absorb it through our skin doesn't mean that it poses no risks.

All of us here are searching for alternatives to the toxic laden way of life we've fallen accustomed to. However, we should investigate the claims made by these advertisers because some of them are false and misleading.
