Human speed was already made obsolete when (some) races learned to tame horses and ride horseback, millenia ago.
Rest of the world is now building and riding in cars. Meanwhile, Africans are still in a footrace against autos. They have yet to learn agriculture or domestication of livestock, much less leap past the industrial and digital ages.
