pure lollybeezy mayne...,

fine for amusements and diversions, but not too useful for very much else.

not to be uprooted, but definitely needs to be pruned and groomed.

God, I HATE that dance. The "stanky leg" Seriously? I mean, that's what's hot in the streets right now. I mean, I don't mind the dance, it's no better or worse than a lot of other dumb dances, but really, the "stanky leg". That was the best name they could come up with?

how bout the "pee wee herman", the "reebok", "the cabbage patch", "funky chicken"...

This is not my cup of tea but its all part of the culture.

Get yours lil homies!

I just don't understand when hustle music trumped lyrical skill. "jumped up out my bed, turn my swag on, looked in the mirror and said whassup, yeah, i'm gettin money, oooh"

the beat is hard though.

DV...what up Fam.

Neither do I, but it certainly seems to have closed the gap, if not overtaken lyrical ability altogether.

DV won't like this, but Ice T and Snoop were right.

2 million hits in a munt?

That's impressive. But all it really means is that 2 million more young strippers in training will be posting videos of their inerpretation of the stanky leg. (ref DV's post from last week)

But to keep it trill...I be watchin them twerk videos. Souljah boy is horrible for the state of hip hop, but he's great for your boy Big Wayne's viewing pleasures.

I'm not comfortable with the way he pulls his foot up to his back and says "crazy gucci shoes!"

I'm not sure why at the moment that bothers me?

um um um ...

Ya'll ol' young squares starting to sound like my uncle's generation.

Constantly denigrating that which you don't understand.

What you now call "lyrical" rap ... a decade ago was called "gangster rap" ... by ol' young squares.

A decade from now ol' young squares will denigrate whatever young people respond to then ... with the dismissive label du jour.

Aren't Ice T and Snoop grandfathers now?

Whatever Soldier Boy is doing - millions of young people around the world feel it and respond to it much like your parents generation felt and responded to the Beatles.

Who also had to wade through a tide of dismissive verbage from the ol' young squares of their day.

If Soldier boys shit is garbage ... you do it. And make the $Mil a munt he's pulling in.

I personally get hustle music... Can you not see the positivity in first getting yo ass OUT the bed looking in the mirror complimenting oneself on his/her beautiful Blackness and setting out into the world to acrue dividends. Whats not to understand? Maybe we should go back to this...

"Bum stiggedy bum stiggedy bum hon I got the old pa rum pum pum pum
But I can fe fi fo fum diddly bum here I come
So Peter Piper I'm hyper than Pinochio's nose
I'm the supercalafragilistic tic tac pro
I gave my oopsy daisy now you've got the crazy
Crazy with the books Googley goo where's the gravy
So one two unbuckle my um shoe
Yabba Doo hippity hoo crack a brew
So trick or treat smell my feet yup I drippedy-dropped a hit
So books get on your mark and spark that old censorship
Drats and double drats, I smiggedy-smacked some whiz kids
The boogedy-woogedly Brooklyn boy's about to get his, dig
My waist bone's connected to my hip bone
My hip bone's connected to my thigh bone
My thigh bone's connected to my knee bone
My knee bone's connected to my hardy-har-har-har
The jibbedy-jabber jaw ja-jabbing at your funny bone, um
Skip the ovaltine, I'd rather have a honeycomb
Or preferably the sesame, Let's spiggedy-spark the blunts, um
Dun dun dun dun dun, dun dun"

Actually lets not... As far as dance... Did we have to call it the WOP... the only wop I know is incendiary to to italians. Did we have to call music FUNK.. I never liked that word. Anyway get wit it and do the "Halle Berry"!!!
