Actually Mike, far more important than what DV would do AFTER some man put his hands on his daughter, is what DV would do BEFORE some man would put his hands on his daughter.I love her enough, and care for her well being enough, to teach her to KEEP HER HANDS TO HERSELF . Which is a far more effective deterrent to domestic violence than the threat of incarcerating her boyfriend.
A woman keeping her hands to herself seems to be a HUGE factor in determining which women get their asses beat and which women don't. It also appears to be a factor the conformists are loathe to acknowledge.
Why the abhorrence to teach women that little bit of wisdom? Because it would mean millions of less men to feed into the For Profit Prison system.
This stupid emphasis on punishing men, regardless of fault, after the girl has been beaten makes as much sense as punishing reckless drivers for running over children instead of teaching kids to look both ways before running out into the street.
Yeah, the driver is in jail, but the kid is still dead.
I'd rather have a living healthy happy child than the warm fuzzy knowledge that some man is doing 8 to 12 years for reckless driving. I'd rather have a happy healthy adult daughter without a broken nose, busted lip and a black eye because she smacked some dude she was dating.

I agree with you DV. I think women should keep their hands to themselves. I've heard the argument that is never ok for a man to hit a woman but it works both ways. I have told my daughter as my mom told me be prepared to get your azz kicked if you hit a man--you can't win so why even gamble that he won't hit you back?

There's no abhorrence to morally sound issues (one of your straw man arguments), responsible parents teach both their sons and daughters to keep their hands to themselves. Even smarter parents teach their children to turn the other cheek.
Also men and women are being locked up for domestic violence and most men aren't punished regardless of fault (another one of your straw arguments). An increasing number of women are being locked up for provoking violence.
MOST men are simply hesitant to contact the police when they are victim.
