THE DV INTELLIGENCE TEST • 002 • WHO IS PROBABLY MORE INTELLIGENT?

Why muhfuggas seem to get so sensitive and egalitarian when the question is asked in a specific race context?

race aint suppress Jesus' human merit.
race aint suppress Ali's human merit.
race aint suppress Jay-Z's human merit.
race aint suppress Obama's human merit.
race aint suppress Jomo Kenyatta's human merit.
race aint suppress Denmark Vesey's human merit.

Those men used their race to build their spirits. What's the point of being black, if you don't use it to strengthen the soul?

Race is used to suppress the human merit of those who allow race to suppress their human spirit.

When it comes to intelligence, Bill Gates is not in the same league with Sean Carter. Gates didn't write the code for Windows. He beat some nerd out of the rights to Windows for $50K and got IBM to make a stupid deal.

Bill Gates is to software what Russell Simmons is to Hip Hop. He is credited with making something happen - that would have happened anyway.

Besides, I've never met any particularly intelligent people who were not also artists. You can look at Bills swag and see he couldn't find art if he was lost in the Louvre.

When you really think about it, isn't that a really silly question?

Why do you think so Sub?

"When you really think about it, isn't that a really silly question?"

I don't know Sub.

But it don't seem all that 'silly' when the question is asked in a general race context.

"Bell Curve" conversations have produced books, TV shows, documentaries and vigorous blog debates.

Why muhfuggas seem to get so sensitive and egalitarian when the question is asked in a specific race context?

If that was the context in which the question was raised, then yeah, it was stoopid as hell...,

I thought it had something to do with the individuals respective merits in making the most of the situations available to them and each amassing a fortune by brilliantly manipulating information processing on wildly divergent platforms. Or possibly weighing the merits of Beyonce and Melinda as spousal units and the mothers of one's heirs.

Bill married his secretary and Jay-Z married the global goddess du jour....,

This question is silly because it's never about the objects themselves, it's about us and our relationships to them. Both of the men depicted have made immeasurable contributions to humanity.

nah i gotta disagree with jay-z bill gates is a pretty amazingly smart guy

I agree with Submariner. From a meritocracy standpoint, both men have done a whole helluva lot. BUT Gates revolutionized industry and commerce. Jay Z is clever but I don't see where he revolutionized anything. His flows are great, but I say a better comparison would've been BIGGY Smalls to Bill Gates. Then I woulda said it's a tie!

OK a better comparison would be Bill Gates to Dr. Benjamin Carson. That is one bad Negro.

How is intelligence/intellect measured?

1 a (1): the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations : reason ; also : the skilled use of reason (2): the ability to apply knowledge to manipulate one's environment or to think abstractly as measured by objective criteria.

Unless you subject each person being measured into identical conditions/circumstances it is IMPOSSIBLE to conclude who has greater intellectual capabilities.

Usain Bolt is not the indisputable fastest man in the world. He is the fastest man to complete at the Olympics!

My virtual friendship with thegrayconservative began along these lines in heated discussion 3.5 years ago.

But that's an elite level of understanding DV.

It's a level of understanding that is completely lost on cats who should otherwise know better, cats like Fisher and Mills who've been around and had every conceivable opportunity to "get it" - and then some - and who nevertheless have set new benchmarks for subjective failure.

How you expect God's Son to precipitate a pragmatic politics of emergent interaction with folks running around into their 5th decades stuck on stupid as hell - if you don't break a little some of this down for them? (yeah, I know, I've famously refused to break things down for folks in the past - but we may have to revisit some of this in light of the unique window of opportunity presented by Obama as cultural phenomenon.)

"Fisher and Mills who've been around and had every conceivable opportunity to "get it" - and then some - and who nevertheless have set new benchmarks for subjective failure."

Now why, Nulan, would you wanna go there again?

Especially since you too divide human kind into two distinct biological (dopamine-level-tolerance) creative/non-creative races without any empirical proof whatsoever?

A notion that me thinks is no better than Mills' variation on the same theme.

Wanna start trading insults with me again?

Michael Fisher said...

Oh, Nulan, and in my case, what "subjective failure" have I set new benchmarks for if you would, please?

CNu said...

Fisher, if that's all you have left to do in life, please, by all means - knock yourself out.

I won't be joining you this time around though, thankfully I've gotten myself a little too busy to fool around...,

That would be your crippling inability to work equitably and constructively with others.

But then, the particulars of your case are best and most clearly known to yourself, so there's no point in trying to prosecute them here or anywhere else among an audience of folks who simply don't give a phuk.

"That would be your crippling inability to work equitably and constructively with others."

Meaning crippling inability to work equitably and constructively with you?

Oh, that's all?

I'll give you that one. No question.
