In retrospect, Ill Math, The Prince has had the opportunity to examine this entire thread and I have to say that after completely analyzing the matter, tone and content of this conversation (well, at least the discourse between you and me) I cannot say that the Prince is completely content in the manner which he allowed Big Wayne to so viciously, and frankly, at times, inappropriately attack your personal character, while at times not focusing his comments completely on our differing opinions, depsite what he may personally have deemed as dismissive or personal attacks. Being the introspective individual who the Prince considers himself to be, I had to ask myself how could I have allowed these events to transpire in a forum of such decorum and respect? My deductions were as follows:
When I originally saw this video, it did, indeed evoke strong emotions as I saw, what I perceived as a beautiful young princess whose young impressionable brain had, by the mere age of six years old, already been shapen to emulate some of the most raunchy and sexually explicit acts which we as adults can imagine. You see The Prince is a father and a brother and a son and a husband and a friend of some of the most beautiful, progressive, intelligent, women who will ever grace the 3rd rock. The Prince holds our princesses in th highest of regards and if you ask his siblings at times overprotective of them. My original response was threefold. A) my emotional response that I was saddened and almost shamed B) Addressed the topic whether its hip hop's fault c) also an emotional response that who would allow this to happen should have my foot up their ass. Although my response was indeed emotionally charged, I almost find it impossible from the perspective of anyone who even knows a little queen remotely close in age to the little girl in the video, or even someone who has a basic understanding for the fragility of the young femal mind in this oversexualized soceity in which we dell, not to have some degree of an emotional response having viewed this video. A few other people responded in a similar fashion, then Ill injected his viewpoint. Yours was a different perspective than what had previously been offered.
While the Pince held a completely opposing perspective, I found your first two posts objective, convicted and relatively well stated. As I mentioned earlier I was able to acknowledge and respect tje "level headed and non conformist" thinking. Your third post successively digressed from factual support for your position to undeniable personal attacks aimed at Big Wayne sounding like a 40 year old woman or whatever ultimately finished in your dismissing of his intial response of sadness and shame to this. A response to which The Prince deemed well...entitled. In what way had Big Wayne so egregiously offended Ill to evoke the personal attacks and tirade? Further, who amongst us doesn't feel any degree of sadness or disturbance about this? What emotional or spiritual components must an an individual be lacking not to have a similar response? Is that guy normal? And Who is this guy to dismiss my entitlement.
Had Ills contribution remained as objective as it started with your contention that the children were fusing African and Western style dancing, the Prince may have simply responded and reminded you that most hip hop or carribbean style dancing is infact just that, a fusion of African and western style dancing. All the chicks shakin ass in the clubs you frequent dont realize but the same moves they make today were performed by Congan, Ghanaian or Souku people for centuries prior as celebratory rituals when an Elk or a buffalo was brought back to the tribe as a feast or when a new leader was anointed. I am certain that this discourse would have assumed a different identity.
Perhaps the Prince would have opposed your assertion that your African sister performed these acts as family bonding with the fact that The Prince's godmother is 1st generation Ghanaian. His brothers and sisters are second generation. And theirs was a similar response to having seen this. To validate the actions in this video by the fact that other adults were present or that our African ancestors performed similarly was in my opinion a ridiculous assertion because a it is not true and b having kids doesn't make good parents.
There were many points of your argument I could have refuted factually, but The Prince allowed Big Wayne to respond with a returned personal attack instead of simply ignoring them and continuing to focus on our differening opinions. That was my bad You and I are no strangers. We've agreed and disagreed numerous times. We have dropped lines or poiked fun at one another numerous times before always in fun and always able to recognize the other's game. It was all in respect.
Anyways, it was downhill from there. And the Prince realizes he played more than his role in the downward spiral. There are certain facets of Big Waynes personality which work both to his benefit as well as to his detriment, at times simultaneously, if that makes any sense. To his credit the Prince is the father of a beautiful really young vocally expressive little princess and his sleeping habits have very recently been dramatically disturbed. And this morning he "woke up" already not in the best of moods.
Long story short. The Prince offers his most humble apology to you and DV for allowing this discussion or intellectual discourse to digress into the level of hostility and personal assault to which it eventually developed. I feel I could have presented a more convincing case than yours factually, without having to go that route. The Prince is working hard to resist these retaliatory urges.

Excellent point, Byrd. This was exactly what we both did. Ill spoke to his sister who stated that this was nothing outside of the norm. That she,herself, gyrated her young body and emulated overt sexual acts at this age in family bonding ritual. While I found it nearly incredible, I cannot disprove it. When I showed this video to my Ghanaian mother, who has been in this country 35 years, hers was a completely different response of shame and repulsion.

So I searched and searched for some evidence of this. In all my queries, I was unable to find one example of children so young emulating these explicit sexual acts.
