Holy Christ, that image was stuck in my head all day. I was going to do a story on Aleister Crowley for the October edition of our school paper. As I started researching the guy, it got waaaay too got damn creapy and I just kinda had to back away from it. And now this.

Your first clue is that date. Read the comments on the Cannonfire blog, and you’ll notice several readers asking whether this post is an April Fool’s gag.
I decided to check the Cannonfire archives for subsequent April 1 posts.
For April Fool’s Day 2007, Joe Cannon posted photographs to examine the possibility that “Ann Coulter is a hermaphrodite.”
For April Fool’s 2008, Cannon wrote a long piece connecting Hillary Clinton to the cover-up of the JFK assassination.
On April Fool’s Day this year, in a post titled “A comic book conspiracy,” Cannon described how old comic books contain chilling forecasts of 9/11, the Oklahoma City bombing and the Manson murders... because famous comic-book artists like Jack Kirby and Gil Kane were Kabbalists and Freemasons.
That post only got a few comments. And the next day, April 2, Joe Cannon blogged about his disappointment... in a post titled “This year’s hijinks”:

Here's another one-- Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush and yes, even Barack Obama are all related to Queen Elizabeth the 2nd. Bill Clinton was related to King Henry III. Al Gore was related to Charlemagne and a few other roman emperors.
It really makes it sadly apparent how much these political "choices" we're given are all predetermined, just ruses meant to give the illusion of real power while the same people who've always been in charge are still running the show. Makes you wonder-- was the revolutionary war really the war for american independence, or just a property dispute between relatives.

As an aside, my favorite Aleister Crowley story-- He once bet a friend that he could make the man walking ahead of them trip. He then proceeded to mirror the man's steps with his own, making sure each step was loud enough that the man could hear. Then he audibly scuffed his own feet, causing the man ahead of him to trip.
