NEW YORK -- After three decades of keeping mum, Barbara Walters is disclosing a past affair with married U.S. Senator Edward Brooke, whom she remembers as "exciting" and "brilliant."
Appearing on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" scheduled to air Tuesday, Walters shares details of her relationship with Brooke that lasted several years in the 1970s, according to a transcript of the show provided to The Associated Press.A moderate Republican from Massachusetts who took office in 1967, Brooke was the first African-American to be popularly elected to the Senate. Both he and Walters knew that public knowledge of their affair could have ruined his career as well as hers, Walters says.

Did we somehow think she was going to be different than so many of the rest. Sadly, the same question can be asked of him.

Well she is Jewish - and it was the 70s. And nothing earns your PC liberal card more than schlupping a Black Man - married or not!
I love how unapologetic she is though - as if there was absolutely nothing at all wrong with fucking a cheating hubby.
Of course, Eliot Spitzer was a horrible, horrible man for cheating. But, if you're the other woman, none of that blame magically applies to you!
Nowadays an affair like that could never be kept quiet, times they have a changed.
