"Hillary Clinton Is A Monster!" Obama Foreign Policy Aide Forced To Resign

Samantha Power apologised for her “inexcusable remarks” which were made in an interview with The Scotsman during a tour to promote her new book.

Discussing the negative campaigning that helped the former first lady win crucial primaries in Ohio and Texas this week, she called Mrs Clinton a “monster”.

“She is stooping to anything,”
added Miss Power, who is a professor of public policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

“You just look at her and think, ’Ergh’. The amount of deceit she has put forward is really unattractive.”

She requested the remarks be considered “off the record” by the newspaper but only after she had used the word “monster” in the interview.

Hillary Rodham Clinton has singlehandedly disabled the Democratic Party for the next eight years. Her husband did a similar thing when he cost the Dems the Congress and later Al Gore whatr should have been a clear path to the White House. It took about ten years for Dems to recover from the insult.

The Gettysburg moment of February 5decided the outcome of the primary. Hillary could have continued running an issue oriented campaign. But when she strayed into casting doubts about Obama's religious affiliation, insulting his supporters as deluded fanatics, and the ultimate betrayal, explicitly stating that John McCain is more qualified to be POTUS than Obama, she essentially became the woman who agreed to Solomon's solution to cut a baby in half to settle a custody suit.

The Dems can't recover. Barack was a resplendent JFK. The personal and racial attacks were sure to come in a general campaign. But to have a white female fellow Democrat slinging calumnies prepared the nation for when the heavyweight no condom wearing, straight ATM Republicans would get into the ring. Without such pre-conditioning the nation would probably have been repulsed at such a spectacle, the way it was when Bill Clinton first dropped his turds in South Carolina.

As it stands, Barack has won a bike with a flat tire. By not putting Hillary Rodham Clinton in check, the party elders as well as the Black superdelegates who held steadfast even as HRC's venom reached toxic levels have fractured their party. HRC can't get the nomination without mass defection and Barack is a once beautiful suit that's emerged from the dryer after being laundered. The only chance left for Obama is to select Chuck Hagel as a running mate and start the fall with a retooled and recalibrated campaign. Such a move would be the only way to recapture the spirit. Needless to say, HRC is finished politically.

I guess she expected Hillary to be an angel instead of a monster in her quest for power, money, riches and influence? This is a contest for the most powerful office in this country and unlike Al Gore and John Kerry, Hillary will do whatever it takes to win. In my mind, you don't give up the fight but fight harder instead.

After the massacre of February 5, for Hillary to succeed would've required a Democratic version of Bush's victory over Gore in 2000. The numbers just weren't there for her to win legitimately. David defeated Goliath but the media colluded with the Clintons to create an image of viability. What Barack did was deliver a political version of the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique.

The real question for Senator Obama and you guys is does Barack take this tarnished prize or does he leave Washington and stage a successful run for governor of Illinois and seek redemption in 2012 or 2016? It is undeniable that HRC has endorsed the Republican challenger over Obama. She can't take that back. But has the Democratic leadership, by its silence, also done the same? Wouldn't Barack merely be a sacrificial lamb or scapegoat in the fall campaign? Shouldn't he let Hillary take the fall?
