Exodus Mentality
4) Whenever, wherever, we can have that discussion. I appreciate your wilingness to stipulate to the existence of the GSWS for the purposes of comparing adn contrasting, but I'm afraid I cannot be so accomodating. You will have to begin with a very detailed description of this Global System of Black Supremacy that you mention, because this is the very first that I have ever heard of such a thing. You say you were raised to believe it, so I'm assuming you didn't just make this up yourself? Perhaps an explanatory post on your blog would be a good place to get this party started.

"Wovon man nicht sprechen kann, darüber muß man schweigen"
I think I may understand what Mike et al. are getting at when they propose there is a system white supremacy. I dont think they are actually saying that white people are supreme (or at least I hope not since nothing could be further from the truth), instead I think they say there are systemic processes at work in an effort to keep white people in positions of power and opportunity. With this, to a certain extent, I agree. It is no coincidence crack v. powder laws cut as they do, or that only certain votes were tossed in trashcans in 2004 (or whatever year that was), just to name a few examples. HOWEVER, I agree with DV to the extent that his argument acknowledges or hinges on the following uncontroverted truths:
1) we can be no more held back than we hold ourselves; and
2) this so called notion of a systemic effort to oppress us can only be evidence of our superiority (as opposed to inferiority). Who the hell works so hard to oppress that which is impotent and muted.
Besides the foregoing, I tend to embrace any approach that challenges the widespread belief that we as a people are somehow less-than and incapable. I alone am living proof that that's bullshit and I cant help but believe that me and mine are better off for knowing and freely saying so!
And there you have my take on this "white supremacy" debate.
