Harold Ford is one of many in a long line of "acceptable negroes." He speaks white english, subscribes to the white value system and even looks white!
I have a lot of black investment banker friends in NYC that LOVE Ford. It's not because anything in particular that he has said or done; it's just because he's achieved a certain status among white people that they also seek.

It's not that Ford is a sell out, I'm sure he really believes this stuff. Problem is, as with the black bankers (ahem annoying d'bags) mentioned above, these guys consistently favor style over substance. Its not their fault, they're experience teaches them relationship building is all important and that its also done one way. As for the white girl front, he's a light-brite himself...
