Interesting post. I just told a friend of mine not two nights ago on the telephone, if I had money to buy a house, I'd as soon buy land, because as long as you have a piece of dirt, you have a place to lay your head. But then, if the government wants it, they allow natural disasters and terrorists to devalue it and displace you, then take it...in the interest of the people, you know...

Costa Rica is a good place to have a getaway, just in case America implodes. It's got a low population, not so far that you can't drive it and it's got natural resources that you can live off of.

Nah Casp,

To be like Darfur, the government would have to arm poor peasants, call them rebels, instigate a shooting conflict, call that a genocide, lobby silly American liberals, demand US intervention, occupy the land, suck the oil from under the feet of the people, distribute that oil to the US and Israel, all the while "blaming Islam".

Understand the difference yet?

Well, except for the oil, that's pretty much what happened at the WTC buildings on 9-11. Oh wait; there was gold...
