I've been perusing your blog for some time and waiting to introduce myself with a well thought response. I never thought a post like this would serve as my prompt. Daaaaaayyuuuummmm! To quote Chris Rock, "I think I love my wife."

Thank GOD Nelly is not around...

how is she, standing here nude, in nothing but pumps, exuding more class and sophistication from her pinkie finger than all of the 'women' in all of the hip hop videos these days?

Devil in no dress?

of course I could be mistaken, but I'm guessing that Amekor is a contraction for American-Korean, judging from the sponsoring link on this page.

I'm not mad at em, just got no love for em.

no sell out....,

Not clear on your point Cnu.

Peeped the links, seems like more Mike Fisheresque over-simplistic race-baiting nonissues.

Fronting for the Korean wig monopolists is a rank, sellout steeze - no class in that old ass at all...,

Ahhhhh ...

I see. Beverly Johnson sells a product not manufactured in a "black" owned wig factory.

Shame on her for violating the selectively enforced AfroXenophobic trading sanctions against The Republic of Korea.

I play golf with Sista Bev from time to time. Please link us to the elusive "black" owned wig manufactures whose products she should rep.

Since the link came through Fisher, let me guess ... um ... Beverly Johnson is fanning the flames of Global White Supremacy because she sells wigs to black women?

might as well be the general's fried chicken...., cept this spoof is f'real.

if Black women would get free from their eurocentric beauty measures, Koreans would have no wigs, weaves and box perms to sell.

BINGO sister!!!

wouldn't be no market for that "good hawr"

like I said upthread, I'm not mad at those Koreans for being smart, leveraging what little they had, and working together. However, their business practices as against Black manufacturers, distributors, and retailers are rank. Given that there is a finite pool of consumer dollars at stake, and ours represent a disproportional percentage of the same, there is a definite zero sum game at work here.

Beverly Johnson has traded her fame, the social capital afforded her in reward for her exceptional physical beauty as a branding and marketing mask for some of those rank and monopolistic Korean business practices.

Jes cause she's yo boy DV, doesn't get her a free pass on the no sellout sweepstakes. Sorry.

I found the 29 year old image of her provocative beauty sufficient to warrant a google search cause I wanted to see exactly how crack proof ultraphoine Black really is. Sure enough, phoine as hell right up to the present moment.

Sadly, however, when I saw what she had attached her name and face to, and I mean it's the whole nine yards (beverlyjohnson.com) - it became immediately evident that the old adage is very, very true;

what looks good t'ya, may not be good f'ya!

I feel ya, Cnulan. I don't necessarily agree with her marketing tactics, but I was just told at lunch today, that you shouldn't hold people accountable for things they really do not understand. Ms Johnson came up in a time where 'good hawr' was more about survival than anything else. I'm not sure how much her perspective has evolved since then, so from me, she gets a pass.

I still stand by my original comment (posted anonymously) that she is incredibly beautiful, and yes, classy.

Plus she got a nice ass.
