The Pathology and Fantasy of Rap Haters. Jealousy Is A Bitch.

Casper Said ...
"If I wanted to earn more money I could come up with some really sleezy ways to accomplish that goal and do it on the backs of my people. But I choose not to sellout my people for the love of money."

LOL. Yeah. Like what?

Name 1 thing you could do to make "money on the backs of your people"
_______ _________ ? Name 1 thing you could do to make more money than you are making now ________________ ?

The Rap Haters are today's Scribes and Pharisees. Finger pointing Holier Than Thou Hypocrits.

Maybe that's what Tupac was talking about with his Jesus metaphor.

I could have invested in 3 fried chicken chain stores when they came available here in Harlem and kept my current company and I passed because I am not selling heart disease to my people. I'd rather operate a fruit stand!

BTW Caper. I want to apologize for some words we exchanged the other day. I called you something that I didn't have no business calling you. You never took it to that level and neither should I. My fault.

Just curious though and this isn't meant to pick a fight. Why don't you open a fruit stand? Or a smoothie spot?

I think you should have invested in the chicken spot personally.

Fried Chicken?

Aight Casper,

I gotta give you that one. That's gangster.

And a perfect example of what it means not to be a Plantation Negro.

Reality is that in this system, people will do just about any thing to make a buck.

The system is set up to reward bad behavior.

So only a fool does not exploit it for every dime.

Only a fool, or a wise person that is not a bean counter, will be honest about that.

If Rap music hip hop was free, and you could pick it up electronically for free, the entire aspect of it would change.

Its not free though people are marketed to, and tricked, and convinced, by advertising, that some aspects are cool, or great, when the reality is mostly it is sold like a pork chop sandwich on a menu, that has a beautiful color picture, with maybe a dancing girl in the background. Ha ha.

Skip,

That was well said... The fact is I don't hate Curtis. I hate the game he dicided to play though. That's why you rarely get the record execs on camera explaining their industry. That's what the congressional hearings plan to do. Call J. Iovine and Mr. Morris in and explain why they market certain music.

OK I have officially had enough of this topic...

Waiting for a optimal location for a Jamba Juice type spot...

I was recently faced with this issue. A new franchise is opening (I will not name) that specializes in chicken wings and kool-aid because "black folks eat chicken and drink kool-aid". It will probably blow-up in urban centers around the world. Someone else WILL get in and make beaucoup green. I just can't do it. I think about my kids and their kids. I just wouldn't open a ho house or anything else that does not sit right with my soul. My salvation is greater than my compensation.

Joan.

Do you think black Americans would be better served by sanctioning Hip Hop, or by reducing the quantity of fried foods consumed?

Should Congress be interrogating rappers or fast-food executives?

What do you think kills more black people, offensive lyrics or diabetes?

Both contribute... BTW Where I live transfat is against the law to serve.

Access to food of good quality, when it is desired, should be a right of citizenship in a 'good' country, as the right to a home, education, recreation, and medical care.
That means shutting down most fast food places, and opening eating barracks or stations, that any one can go in any time, and eat healthy nutritious food. For free. Period.

The music we are discussing is not good or bad. It is a reflection of the society we live in. A bad society. So...
Obviously the music is going to be ugly. Really ugly, and really honest, and in some ways really annoying.
It is a means to sublimate the crying shame of a phucked up nasty society we live in.

A society where nothing is going to turn out right, ever, with the system we have presently.

Change society. Change the way society operates, and then the players change.

Denmark Vesey said...

Good stuff Skip.

However, I notice both you cats endorse handing the health choices of people over to some larger governmental entity.

Casper says Transfats are against the law. (Like he had to wait for da guvament to make it official)

Skip suggests Big brother like "feeding stations".

I suggest telling the people the truth about what they eat and let them make their own decisions.

J.C. said...

You are suggesting same old same old Denmark.
Money control of people in a caste/class system.
Special interest groups control the food and the media.
The Politicians will not readily, or perhaps will never change that. A new social movement will, that gives real change, and not cosmetic change.

I am not suggesting Big Brother any thing.
Just access to healthy, good, nutritious food, in a good setting.

I repeat that should be a reality in a good society. Hunger should not exist in the U.S.A.

It exists because of the system we have which can be changed.

That includes getting rid of our Judiciary system, which is a throwback to Civil society control, of private property, and women.

The main purpose of the template of the current society is to maintain the caste/class system.
