Like this one don't you Skip?

That's more your style aint it?

See. The secularists are full of shit. They make it their business to mock God and religion at every opportunity. It's hard to tell whether they are trying to convince themselves God doesn't exist or others. But when one of their icons is defaced, when The Prophet Che Guevarra is affronted, when the authenticity of their mythology is challenged, God haters turn into Muqtada al-Sadr on the quick fast.

Is that a real ad?

What a sick, disgusting abuse of Che's image.

that's funny.

Sick and disgusting and attention grabbing, and perfect for todays public relations. What used to be known as propaganda.

People who wear Che t-shirts while rollin' around in Benzes get on my nerves. Fecking corporate revolutionaries.

just venting this morning are we?

Can i wear the T-shirt if i just think he's handsome or do I have to have more invested?

Denmark Vesey said...

What's corporate about a Benz?

Actually, I think a Prius is more corporate.

You make the mistake of assuming if Che were here today, he would be walking around talking that same shit he was talking in 1960.

G.T.F.O.H.

Che would have evolved. Who knows where, but nostalgic sentimental notions of revolution are actually counter-revolutionary.

anything that don't change is dead.

I'm glad you're able to channel Che. Fidel rolls around in a pick up truck.

Time evolved. Not Che.

Big J,

Do people rolling around wearing Che T Shirts, while driving old BMW's, get on your nerves any less than those driving new Benz's?

If so, what's the difference?

Anonymous said...

Flaunting the symbols of American elitism is antithetical to what Che stood for.

Wearing a Che t-shirt is wack. Period. It's so faux-liberal and, frankly, old.

I rock an ol' BMW, but not a Che t-shirt. I'd rather read a book about the man.

Big J

Denmark Vesey said...

Reading a book 'about' Che is no more revolutionary than wearing a Che T Shirt.

More people know who Che is because of the T Shirt than the book.

"I'm Che Guevara with bling on"
- Hova

That's revolutionary.

and still they haven't learned a thing.

Che was a smart guy and so is Castro.
They were smart enough to tell us to get screwed.
I have some info. on Raul, Che, and Fidel.
All were trained by the C.I.A. originally in the hills, and then turned.
That is not common knowledge, but it is true.
These three knew a whole lot more than is commonly thought, and never were true Communists, after a run in with a certain someone that I know who was 'involved' in their training.
That certain someone told them a whole lot of interesting things, as they were preparing for the overthrow, and capture and construction of their new government.
The stuff he told them was not mainstream, but something entirely different.

DV,

People that rock Che t-shirts don't know anything about Che - they are just following a trend.

What's revolutionary about bling? "A black man with diamonds is revolutionary!" C'mon man.

Big J

Intellectual Insurgent said...

Well J,

I'm not going to answer this for DV, but I am going to pose the question - doesn't "revolutionary" depend on the context?

Shoot, I feel like saying that I will be a stay-at-home mom when I have a baby is damn near revolutionary in this day and age.

Anonymous said...

II,

Everything depends on the context.

Of course you staying home would be revolutionary!! And I like to think I had something to with it! :-) Seriously, if you have a boy, you should name him Big J. A girl - name her Big J with an e at the end!

Big J

J.C. said...

The reason you are considering being a stay at home mom is because you have the money to do it.

It is hardly revolutionary, but more a product of having a large salary, that probably also provides through the 'law' a term of leaving the job, and the job will be, by law, there when you return.

Mostly it is economics at work, and not a heart felt choice either way.

Intellectual Insurgent said...

You're stupid. :-)

J.C. said...

Perhaps at times but I am right on this one.

Intellectual Insurgent said...

That was directed to J.

It's damn near revolutionary when a woman who commands a decent paycheck says that she will trade that in for children. There are women who find that offensive for whatever reason.

J.C. said...

Whoopsy
Well any way it helps to have lots of choices. Many people are wage slaves first and last.

Anonymous said...

that one is even more fly.

what? church people don't listen to ipods.

WTF is wrong with people? aren't there any better, more grave things to bitch about? isn't there a war on?

Anonymous said...

skip, you are absolutely right. choice trumps.

big bank got more choices than little bank all day.

and yet some of them still feel trapped.

it's mental.

Denmark Vesey said...

lol.

"choice".

Isn't that what the serpent peddled to Eve?

100,000 years later her daughters are "choosing" to show their fake titties on Girl Gone Wild.

Anonymous said...

kindly tie it in. don't just spit it out.

Denmark Vesey said...

You mean like big bank got more than little bank?

Anonymous said...

that's not any more clear.

are you biting your tongue? is something holding it or are you just sleepy?

Denmark Vesey said...

"Flaunting the symbols of American elitism is antithetical to what Che stood for." Big J

Despite the fact that I was wearing a Che T shirt when you were walking around looking like De La Soul, I aint trying to stand for what Che stood for. I stand for what I stand for.

If I wore a Che shirt it's because I looked good in it. Thankfully I never suffered from the petit bourgeois need to apologize for my privilege by pretending 'I would be working to change the system if I didn't have to work to earn a living.'

Hell, Che should be wearing one of my T Shirts.

Ol' BMW. New Benz. For a romantic revolutionary you are awfully car conscious.

Denmark Vesey said...

LOL. Nah Sista Jasai. Not too sleepy.

Sometimes less is more.

Your use of one of the secular power words "choice", kind of tickled me and triggered a domino series of thoughts that snaked back to the magical symbolism of a conversation that took place in a garden a few years back.

There's a reason he hollared at Eve first.

Anonymous said...

okay, so those with more resources i.e. a husband with a job that can support an entire family, is not at a greater choice advantage when it comes to the decision to have one parent stay home full time with the children.

lets say as opposed to two people who HAVE to work to cover rent?

hell, i know it's late but that can't be going over your head and into the "godless people spitting neocon nonsense" bin.

everything ain't a chess challenge.

Anonymous said...

did you hear him holler at eve? is that who you blame - i mean, holler at first?

i guess if sarah has gotten her chapters in at the beginning (or at all) maybe who got hollerd at first would read differently.

but then again, who cares as it was so long ago and things change. or is that just in the case of Che and the Che chasers?

Denmark Vesey said...

"hell, i know it's late but that can't be going over your head and into the "godless people spitting neocon nonsense" bin."

well ... ok.

But I wasn't really responding to your post, as much to the theme of several posts.

Denmark you still do not understand the fundamental point of religion.

Religion is a construct to control people, made up by Political system that insures power possessors control of what ever societal template.

Our Western brand was made up round about 2200BC by the Babylonians. We use a spin off version for Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Religion originally was an inside joke to trick people into conformity when people were organized into cities, and populations started piling up.
People then were used to fight wars and provide income and organized work gangs to do the bidding of the power elite. These people were referred to as the sheep, or flock, and those were intended for sacrifice in regard to the elites desires.
Are you following me ?
Religion was explained in the original Sumerian creation myth to be a poetic lie.
For people that understood this it is referred to what is called an inside joke.
When the joke gets out of control 2nd and 3rd rate thinkers capture it and proclaim it as 'truth'.
n't that what the serpent peddled to Eve?
"100,000 years later her daughters are "choosing" to show their fake titties on Girl Gone Wild."

Guess what. Her daughters can do any god damned thing they want, and the smart ones usually do.
Religion also is an attempt to control female sexuality.
Many women understand that fact and play along because the societal template is set up that way

Our society is set up to bamboozle and humiliate us with abstract concept. Denmark you are a victim.
You believe. You are not interested in real change, but perpetuate the myths.
As I assume a Buddhist, the wonderful and lovely Jasai is not wading through the thought constructs of the very poisonous and crazy junk written by people that were robbers and thieves and came from a place of scarcity where tribal loyalty meant following various types of tin horn gods that were all in favor of killing any one who did not 'believe'.
You follow such a god D.V.
Smarten up.

what exactly is the problem with this?

what is it suggesting that is worse that what we already know to be true?
