NBA commissioner David Stern blamed a "rogue, isolated criminal" yesterday for a betting scandal that has devastated the league and threatened the credibility of every referee.
A subdued Stern said he felt betrayed by former referee Tim Donaghy, the target of an FBI investigation who is alleged to have bet on games, including some he officiated, during the past two season

I hope this gets as much public outrage as the Vick scandal.
That is CRAZY, but, frankly, I'm surprised they don't catch more of these guys cheatin'.
PD,
It won't. But I know a lot of peopel that are pissed about it.
Big J
LOL....you are right they definitely would have blamed it on hip hop!
Nah! could never be a hip-hop thang... Illegal gambling is a $380 billion dollar business per year... Hip Hop is not even in the same league... Chump change!
* The amount gambled on sports illegally is almost 170 times bigger than the amount bet legally (380 billion vs. 2.25 billion per year), according to the National Gambling Impact Study Commission.
$380B!!! My guess is better than 1/3 of that number is NFL gambling alone.
This ref officiated this year's phoenix/spurs series, one of the worst officiated sets of games in NBA history. They caught him making an extremely late call that put Ginobili on the line late in a critical game.
Casper,
The front wheels of your Prius are wobbling. You should slow down.
Now you won't find what I'm about to say to you printed on an ESPN website or in some plantation school text book. So you are going to have to use your imagination.
Peep.
On what, is this $380 Billion waged?
football? basketball?
Nah.
It's waged on black men with cornrows and cadillacs, who crossover and clap boards when they dunk.
The NBA is a Hip Hop product.
Allen Iverson is no less Hip Hop than is Lil Wayne.
Kobe is a Hip Hop product. White boys don't swagger like that.
Steve Nash is Hip Hop. On beat and on time.
The NFL would be boring as hell without TO and Pacman.
The NBA is as black a product as is Soul Train. It aint R&B black. It aint Corporate Negro Black. It aint Civil Rights Negro Black. It's Hip Hop black.
Flash Mike Vick's picture, they see a rapper.
Say what you want about Hip Hop, but whether packaged as music or clothing, or ring tones, or football or basketball - it sells.
People who supposedly hate rappers and ballers spend an awful lot of time watching them.
Where's Freud when you need him?
Sorry DV... But your topic was
NBA REF CAUGHT CHEATING. THANK GOD IT WASNT A BROTHER. THEY WOULD HAVE TRIED TO BLAME THAT (CHEATING/GAMBLING) ON 'RAP' TOO.
Illegal and legal gambling and sports scandals have existed for over a hundred years. Hip Hop has not. That is my response to your topic posted.
Keep your Hyundai on course ;)
"Illegal gambling is a $380 billion dollar business per year... Hip Hop is not even in the same league... Chump change!"
Casper ...
Your Prius is on E.
Gambling. Gambling on what? Gambling on Hip Hop.
Hip Hop is the league.
You make me mad when I have to spell things out for you bra.
DV ... My Man
* 61 million dollars was bet on the NBA in May 2007, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board
Which is about 600 Million per NBA Season. Even 600 Million of 280 Billion is a drop in the bucket.
AA player's dominate NFL & the NBA. What about all the other sports in the world. Just not adding up my man. You do the math.
Woosah! on the Hyundya ;)
Is cheating the same as killing?
