Houston. We Have A Drinking Problem. Astronauts Drunk In Space.

Reports Sites Drinking Binges Before Nasa Space Flights

July 28, 2007

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla.

The panel's report on astronaut health, released Friday, said NASA officials failed to listen to flight surgeons and other astronauts who warned of safety risks because some astronauts had too much to drink.

In one incident, an astronaut was said to have been impaired by alcohol before a planned shuttle liftoff that was delayed by mechanical problems.

Afterward, when crew members wanted to fly their T-38 training jets from Florida back home to Houston, a colleague questioned the same astronaut's ability to fly, said the panel's chairman, Col. Richard Bachmann, a physician who commands the Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine.

"These two incidents of alcohol use were chosen to illustrate a larger problem," said Bachmann, head of the panel created early this year to examine agency handling of astronauts' physical and mental health.

This is another arrogant abuse of tax payers money.

I'm still pissed about NASA having $2 Billion unaccounted for (old news but never made any real headlines). They will put you in prison for not paying taxes but very-few go to jail for abusing our hard earned money (Dubya):

An excerpt from Wm Cooper's site http://www.williamcooper.com/majestyt.htm

To make interstellar travel believable NASA was created. The Apollo Space Program foisted the idea that man could travel to, and walk upon, the moon. Every Apollo mission was carefully rehearsed and then filmed in large sound stages at the Atomic Energy Commissions Top Secret test site in the Nevada Desert and in a secured and guarded sound stage at the Walt Disney Studios within which was a huge scale mock-up of the moon.

All names, missions, landing sites, and events in the Apollo Space Program echoed the occult metaphors, rituals, and symbology of the Illuminati's secret religion. The most transparent was the faked explosion on the spacecraft Apollo 13, named "Aquarius" (new age) at 1:13 (1313 military time) on April 13, 1970 which was the metaphor for the initiation ceremony involving the death (explosion), placement in the coffin (period of uncertainty of their survival), communion with the spiritual world and the imparting of esoteric knowledge to the candidate (orbit and observation of the moon without physical contact), rebirth of the initiate (solution of problem and repairs), and the raising up (of the Phoenix, the new age of Aquarius) by the grip of the lions paw (reentry and recovery of Apollo 13). 13 is the number of death and rebirth, death and reincarnation, sacrifice, the Phoenix, the Christ (perfected soul imprisoned in matter), and the transition from the old to the new. Another revelation to those who understand the symbolic language of the Illuminati is the hidden meaning of the names of the Space Shuttles, "A Colombian Enterprise to Endeavor for the Discovery of Atlantis... and all Challengers shall be destroyed."

Exploration of the moon stopped because it was impossible to continue the hoax without being ultimately discovered. And of course they ran out of pre-filmed episodes.

No man has ever ascended higher than 300 miles, if that high, above the Earth's surface. No man has ever orbited, landed on, or walked upon the moon in any publicly known space program. If man has ever truly been to the moon it has been done in secret and with a far different technology.

The tremendous radiation encountered in the Van Allen Belt, solar radiation, cosmic radiation, temperature control, and many other problems connected with space travel prevent living organisms leaving our atmosphere with our known level of technology. Any intelligent high school student with a basic physics book can prove NASA faked the Apollo moon landings

If you doubt this please explain how the astronauts walked upon the moons surface enclosed in a space suit in full sunlight absorbing a minimum of 265 degrees of heat surrounded by a vacuum. NASA tells us the moon has no atmosphere and that the astronauts were surrounded by the vacuum of space.

Heat is defined as the vibration or movement of molecules within matter. The faster the molecular motion the higher the temperature. The slower the molecular motion the colder the temperature. Absolute zero is that point where all molecular motion ceases. In order to have hot or cold molecules must be present.

A vacuum is a condition of nothingness where there are no molecules. Vacuums exist in degrees. Some scientists tell us that there is no such thing as an absolute vacuum. Space is the closest thing to an absolute vacuum that is known to us. There are so few molecules present in most areas of what we know as "space" that any concept of "hot" or "cold" is impossible to measure. A vacuum is a perfect insulator. That is why a "Thermos" or vacuum bottle is used to store hot or cold liquids in order to maintain the temperature for the longest time possible without re-heating or re-cooling.

Let me guess, they were listening to 'Gin and Juice' just prior to the launch. How long before they connect this one to hip hop?

Kalena.

That.

Is.

Funny.

"Gin and Juice".

That's hilarious.

To Wm. Cooper's comment, hubby and I were out to dinner with a friend who is an engineer at Raytheon. Friend asked hubby if it was possible that man really went to the moon and, if so, why he hasn't been able to get back since.

Needless to say, it was interesting to listen to two aerospace engineers discuss the probable hoax of the trip to the moon.

Insurgent,

What is hubby's take on the above piece? Is its underlying premise, 'walking on the moon is impossible because the surface of the moon during daylight hours is a minimum of 265 degrees,' a scientifically sound premise?

The moon walk did indeed happen.

We went to the moon.

"has been addressed"?

Addressed by whom?

LOL.

Secular Mythology is just as dogmatic as any other religion.

Notice how touchy and intolerant the secular fanatics are when the canon of scientific secularism is challenged.

There exists about as much evidence "we" went to the moon as there is evidence Jesus walked on water.

If "we" went to the moon, why not plant a beacon or another device visible from earth?

We can see craters with the naked eye, and rocks with telescopes, why no American flag?

Spend $5 Billion dollars to travel to the moon and not leave evidence we've been there? Unlikely.

Secular fantasy trying to imitate God.

You know Denmark your comment on this is ignorant.

I suppose you think we are surrounded by one big conspiracy, that conforms to all your religiously challenged, and misinformed ideas.

Yeah man, believe what you want. Ha ha.
You are singing songs to the moon.

265 degrees is relatively cool in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps the lack of discomfort that one experiences when removing fresh baked cookies from the oven with little more protection than an oven mit will illustrate the absurdity of WC's discussion above.

I've seen film footage of vulcanologists walking inches from molten magma at well over 2000 degrees F. Basically, take that suit, add air-tight joints, a glorified scuba system, and indy-car liquid cooled long johns, and you're about 75% of the way to a viable moon suit.

The vacuum of space that the astronauts deal with in orbit around the earth is for all practical purposes identical to the negligible atmosphere (if one would even call it such) of the moon. The astronauts' space suits are composed of numerous layers of materials designed to contain the differential pressure of an atmosphere on one side and vacuum on the other (no small feat given only a few pounds per square inch of pressure acting on several thousand square inches creates large fabric tensile loads quickly), withstand micrometeor impacts, reflect solar radiation (similar to aluminized mylar survival blankets you may have in your first aid kit), circulate coolant to heat exchangers that expel heat generated by the astronaut's bodies to space, and a whole host of other things that I don't claim to be an expert on.

It is true, or commonly accepted as truth, that the levels of radiation one receives increase dramatically once outside of earth's magnetosphere. For this reason, astronauts are required to wear meters that count radiation exposure, and once certain levels are clocked, those astronauts must retire from flight.

An atmospheric vacuum does not preclude an object having measurable temperature. In a vacuum, the primary mode of heat transfer is radiation, not convection or conduction (you can read up on the differences on wikipedia) I assure you that satellites are designed to withstand extreme temperature differentials that result from portions of the craft being in the shade while others are in direct sunlight. The industry refers to these as "skin tempertures" and we measure them with devices called thermocouples. To this end, elaborate heat transfer devices like heat pipes and heat sinks are employed to protect sensitive avionics and instrumentation elements from overheating.

The fundamental argument of extreme temperature, or measurement of said temperature in a vacuum, being the impediment to walking on the moon is simply wrong.

Damn Good Shit Rocket Scientist.

Post of the Month.

Cool. Point taken. It is not impossible to walk on the moon because of excessive heat. The technology exists for men to survive in much hotter temperatures.

Is there any independent physical evidence that supports the assertion that "man has walked on the moon"?

Norman Mailer in 1969 wrote "The event (Apollo 11 Moonwalk) was so removed, however, so unreal, that no objective correlative existed to prove it had not been an event staged in a television studio—the greatest con of the century—and indeed a good mind, product of the iniquities, treacheries, gold, passions, invention, deception, and rich worldly stink of the Renaissance could hardly deny that the event if bogus was as great a creation in mass hoodwinking, deception, and legerdemain as the true ascent was in discipline and technology.
Indeed, conceive of the genius of such a conspiracy. It would take criminals and confidence men mightier, more trustworthy and more resourceful than anything in this century or the ones before.
Merely to conceive of such men was the surest way to know the event was not staged."

It happened.
